El Colorado,
Thanks for the information. I’m saddened by the decline of USA and Canadian tourists. They would have been bringing in much needed $$ in larger amounts. I guess current global issues are affecting everything including mongering and regular vacations.
Interesting what you say about the chica students: I agree, “times, they are a changin’…”. Without wanting to sound anti-mongering, which as you all know is not me…, it is a shame that a lot of these chicas will become hardcore very soon. Understandable as it is in the circumstances it dose sadden me. I guess this is a result of my trying to bet away from the barracuda-hardcore pros, and aim for the regular chicas. But hey, each to their own. Anyone had any new success with regular / armature chicas via pre-communication online?

Spock/Talosian/David,
Lucky man! The cost of MEX to HAV is so good you can make it a regular run. Fantastic.
Pity about the lack of mongering action in “your neck of the woods”. It may be a good thing actually, you know what they say: “never spit on your own door step…”. You always have Mex. City for regulars / amateurs & pay for play, and Cancun for barracudas if that evr takes your fancy.

Hello all Cuba mongers,
I will be coming to Havana for a batchler party (mine) the weekend of July 10th. I am looking for a chica friendly place to rent and some help on finding the interesting places to visit. Any assistance you can give would be most helpful. I will be traveling through the Bahamas. I have always wanted to visit Cuba and need to do it before I get married. Any help on making this trip better would be appriciated. Feel free to PM me.

Wingman, what a great place to have a bachelor party! Just read through this board and you should get all the info you need. PM me if you need casa recommendations. By the way, all, I highly recommend the movie "Miel Para Oshun." I posted about it in the general info section.

Hi Colorada,
Great report with very accurate information.
Just as a small add on from a newbi: The two casa de la Musicas (Miramar and Centro) both charge USD 15 for the nightshow and drinks are USD 5 for cuba/libre. Try the Matinee show which starts at 5 pm is is geared for the locals wich entrance only USD 5 and drinks USD.
2 . Also great place to pick up local talents (centro better than Miramar IMHO) as not to many tourists there.
How about Rosalio de Castro and Tunnel? Any action there ?
Saludos,

Hey guys,
After reading recent posts, I'm kinda worried about my trip in August. Some have mentioned that clubs have shut down. Any idea on which clubs in particular? And regarding places to bring your chica, which places are you referring to that have gone dry. I understand marina hemmingway is a good place, is that closed!? Any feedback would be MUCH appreciated.

Greetings,
I'm staying at the Nacional hotel in Havana in July, and I wanted to know if there are problems in bringing non-pro girls in to visit
Thanks

Gentlemen,
3 days and counting. Barring another baggage handlers dispute at CDG, I will be in Havana on Monday. Anyone on the board out there then? PM me if you want to hook up.

I will see what I can find out for you. However you have the excellent, and up to date post from El Colorado dated: 06-15-04.
Also let me tell you that nothing beats just going there armed with information from the board and making your own way. The surprise of it, the adventure, the learning: it all adds to the excellent time you will have.
Your chica friends will know exactly where, when and how to go anyplace, and trust me that in the final analysis you will be glad to have just gone and seen Cuba the way it is now (assuming its your first visit off course!).

Cubana Man,
I am in the very same situation, and after reading the latest
and talking with my attorney have cancelled my trip this
month. I do not want to take any chances on getting a
US$ 7,500.00 from the US State Department. If you are
a US citizen think about it and if you are not chances are
that the next time you are about to visit the US, two things
can happen, either you are a denied a visa or if you have
already have one they can always denied entry.

Cubana Man,
I was at the Hotel Nacional 4 months ago, and after striking up a conversation with the security officer in the lobby, he felt comfortable enough to offer me the chance to bring up a girl.
These were the conditions:
1. I had to bring her in to the hotel after ten o'clock, when the day shift was gone. And
2. I had to pay him $80 so that he can split it with his boss, the head of security, and some of the other security guys working the perimeter of the hotel. And
3. I had to get her out of the hotel before the day shift came back on duty.
I did not take his offer because I was checking out and into casa. But just to let you know, you can bring girls up. Most of the other hotels have the same scam.

Alboroto, Cubana Man, Gentlemen,
I must respectfully disagree with your comments:
1. I have not heard of anyone actually paying any US State Department Cuba-visit related fine. Indeed I have a friend who got a letter about 3 years ago, never paid and has not to this day been pursued. He is a USA monger and has travelled at least 20 times in the last 3 years.
2. Clearly if my USA friend can go in and out of the States, either the emigration officers do not care (unlikely these days) or can not prove anything. Either way he is free to move wherever and whenever he likes in accordance with the constitution.
3. My passport has a couple of the old “small bank” stamps on it. Any emigration officer who knows his job would be able to identify that I have been to Cuba. I have a European passport and have not had any problems with entering the States on the 8 times I have visited. In fact I would say that those trips were amongst my best as far as being dealt with was concerned: the politeness, courtesy and welcome was very nice, so much so I’m telling the board about it!
My friend, I respect your views, however, it is worth seeing Cuba now before any changes occur: the last bastion of “Western Communism” with all that this means. Cuba is not a mongers paradise, far from it. However you will have noted from the many Cubaphiles here that they develop a sort of affection for the place and the people. It is with this in mind that I say make at least one visit. This is also the reason that many a gentleman here will “country hop” to get to see Cuba and meet its lovely people.
Cubana Man, I would recommend you give Cuba a try.
Regards, Havanaman

The new Bushie regulations on Cuba, which include a tightening on the travel ban, went into effect yesterday. I do believe this changes things. This, in light of my recent experience coming back from Cuba (see post in May), would strongly dissuade me from going back illegally. In fact I won't do it. I'm still worried about getting a fine letter from Treasury, and it's not paranoid because people are getting them. The times they are a changing, my friends!
My only hope is that this will actually [CodeWord140] off enough Miami Cubans to tip Florida into the Kerry column and get us back some reason.

Havanaman,
I do respect your personal opinion and this Forum is to
exchange experiences. Let me ask you ... Did you know
that Ry Cooder received an invoice from the Treasury
Department in the amount of US$100K and also there is
another monger who received one in the amount of US$ 7,500.00\
and BTW I will bet your friend soon will received another one
with interest and penalty. And, tell him that that the Treasury
Department charge interest on a daily basis.
Well, As far as I am concern do respect the US laws, even
thou I do not agree with them, plus my interest in visiting Cuba
is music and thats all MUSIC ... but I just do not want to
disobey the law.
Best of luck to you ... and rather visit some other countries,
if I waited over 40 years to visit Cuba can wait another few
months until things changed.

Doc Bill,
The Miami Mafia as is called in Cuba is doing a good work
behind all this. Cristina and the Estefan Mafia bet are
very happy, but they do not know that whos suffering
are the cuban people.
