As I am about to visit Lisbon, I have been wondering whether to pay your Romanian delights a little visit. There is, however, a question that I would like to have the answer to before going any further with the idea: given that my Potuguese is non-existant (same goes for Romanian), do the girls speak English?

Additionaly, do you think my obvious "foreigness" would put me at any kind of risk (e.g. rip-off)?

Some of them can speak a bit of English. However that must not be the criterion of choice… They hardly speak more than 5 words in Portuguese either. You will find that it’s easy to communicate without words…

As for the risk, keep in mind that the standard fee is €25 (20+5 for the room). Some of them may try to squeeze you a few € more, and it’s up to you to please her or not. It’s not unusual to spend 5, 10 or even 20 on top of the usual 25, but only if you think she deserves. Other risks concerning your wallet or security besides the common good sense are virtually non existent.

Assuming you read the posts about those Romanian SWs and already have an idea of the premises, enjoy and report!
