The likelihood of contracting AIDS from heterosexual intercourse is extremely low unless she is an intravenous drug user or a hemophiliac. And, in heterosexual intercourse, the woman is much more likely to be exposed to AIDS than the man. Especially contracting full blown AIDS. With modern drugs, HIV infected persons can delay the onset of AIDS for years and years.

Gents, Sammytheman gave me a very inexpensive option to get to MDE. Through Niagara Falls, NY.

As those that live in Ontario realize, this is quite a hassle if you don't want to drive. How else do you get to MDE (exclude the obvious Pearson Int'l)? What are other cheap options to get there.

BTW, November was cancelled due to work, but now I can go in March. Anyone else going?

Has anyone flown Spirit Airlines out of Niagara? I'm reading reviews, and I'm pretty much worried about cancelled flights leaving me stranded somewhere.

The only viable option is to take 2 flights to Colombia. First leg on Air Canada or Porter to EWR (Newark) or any airline to NYC (JFK, La Guardia). I would take Miami route instead during winter time.

Thomas Cook Canada has charter flights to Cartagena. I have checked February flights and they run at $875 for 2 weeks. Just exercise caution with this airline as the parent company is in dire straits (book only with credit card through a TICO agency).

A once nice low fare carrier has now become a specialist in ripping off customers with many easy to see, and not so easy to spot tricks.

Around 40 % of my flights leaving their hub in Ft. Lauderdale have had delays. No problems in going from FLL to Latin America as there are no more stops so they will wait for all the delayed flights. It is going to Stateside destinations where the real problems start. Not that long ago I had a 8:35 PM flight leave at 5:30 the next morning. We were supossed to get a $100 credit for the delay, but when I tried to collect it on another flight the customer service rep. (who spoke broken English, I don't think he was even in the USA) told me I had no credit for the incident.

I could make a list of all the gimicks they use to get extra money from you, but I don't feel like getting my blood pressure up.

I wish South West flew to Latin America.

First one has to get to the airport, cross border, pay for long term parking, take a night flight with a risk of it being cancelled and pay extra luggage fees. If you are a solo traveler it adds up to $350 extra costs to a Spirit fare.

Spirit does not goes downhill. Not yet. The recent new Airbus contract puts them in range for flights to Brazil.

Also the fact that they have the NERVE to charge you $25 for a carry on speaks volumes as to their business model and lack or moral fiber!

Hi all, hope everyone is doing well. I've been to Medellin several times and Colombia is still one of the best places to buy prescription medicine on the cheap, zolpidem (ambien) cost 7k for 10 pack (thats 35 cents a pill).

However, I'm having trouble locating a pharmacy that sells zaleplon (trade name Sonata) , as ambien has too much side effects for me. Oddly I have no trouble locating Zolpiclone (Lunesta) in Medellin Pharmacies on the cheap (10k for 10 pack). Zolpiclone has less side effects and more preferrable to me than Zolpidem but I would like to try out Zaleplon as I heard it supposedly has the least side-effects of all the z-drugs.

However whenever I mention Zaleplon to Pharmacists in Medellin all I get are shrugs and blank stares, does anyone know if it goes by another trade name or is Sonata / Zaleplone just not available in Colombia?

I'm going to get one. Once you get on board, take it off and store it in the overhead compartment.

The airlines are making millions, finding all kinds of ways to nickel and dime us. It takes innovative inventors like this guy, to find ways to CIRCUMVENT.

I'm going to get one for my short international trips and trips to NYC. So far it IS airline compliant and they haven't said anything, for how long? Who knows?
