Just get some of your favorites to come by and see you. I was there on semana santa in 2009, I had a blast on Thursday and Friday little private parties at my apartment. I actually have quite a funny story along those lines (and accompanying photos) that I'd share by PM if anyone gives a shit.

Then again before you board the plane.
Why are you paying for everything they offer? The whole point of Spirit's business model is that you can choose to pay for exactly what you want and not pay for what you don't want. However, Spirit's prices have taken a sharp rise lately. What was once $220 to MDE from NY is now. $550+! They are still cheapest but not by much. I think Copa is the best deal going now. I'd rather take Copa since it's <100 difference. Avianca has among the best miles system which is why I am trying to rack up points with them.

Sorry for being off topic but;
In the past I always took a direct flight from JFK to MDE on Avianca. It seems Avianca no longer flies directly from JFK to MDE. Actually it looks like none of the airlines offer a direct flight. I really liked Avianca but their prices have gone up quite a bit. Copa and Spirit offer the cheapest flights. I've heard a lot of bad things about Spirit so would rather not take a chance. Anybody have experience with Copa?
Also have a question about cellphones. I bought a cheap cellphone in Colombia that I use when I'm down there. Can I transfer the sim card from my colombian cellphone to my smartphone while I'm down there? Obviously it wouldn't be 4G, but would I be able to access the internet at a wifi hotspot? Do any cafes or restaurants offer free wifi?

However, using trip advisor, they look up different sites, and the lowest I saw was $917 inc. Tax for 2 stops. If you don't mind the inconvenience of 2 stops then this is the best bet. I'd probably use tripadvisor.
I respect all religions. But the thing that business is shut down for 4 days for religious ceremony seems to be insane.

New Life is good value and have been there 4 times in my two trips over the last 9 months. So much for efficiency. It seems as if every Monday is practically a holiday. Maybe their lifestyle makes more sense than the typical first country one. Now, if you know a Paisa well enough to be invited into her world during this time, you might be in for a real treat.

Using Kayak I found JFK to MDE for 569 in February. One stop.

And when the price is < 100 than their next competitor. I'd prefer the competitor. Used Copa once. It's great. Comparable to Avianca.
Are you trying to put the Colombian SIM into your phone? If so, your phone needs to be unlocked. I wouldn't trust the reliability of free wifi. Just get a data plan.
It is like flying on United / Continental. They have an associate relationship with those airlines, since they are partly owned by them. I use them all the time and they always treat me well.

I bring a lot of shit, I like to dress up at night "Miami Style" so this consists of many shoes and sport coats my friend. Humble gifts for my novia (s) , a fan, depending on which apartment I get (I know the layouts) I even bring a portable blow up sofa. Its funny but I do. There is never enough lounge seating in these apartments. The girls love it and I love watching them bouncing up and down on it. So now you know where the 100lbs goes. lol
