That was back when most of the westerners in Jakarta were oil and gas employees. Then came an influx of other westerners and the scene changed. Girls started getting stiffed by guys they went home with. That triggered them to start negotiating up front. I really hate that because it takes away from the GFE.

There are places to pick up freebies. X2, Immigrant and Dragon Fly are all possibilities. But not CJs, Bats, or Blok M.

I've only ever pulled a genuine freebie from CJs once and BATS twice over many visits. How do I know they're freebies? They've given me money back and said 50 k or 100 k is more than enough to get home, or had their driver take them back - and they have come back for repeat "engagements". It is important not to stiff the working girls - after all, if someone called FreebieFan says you should pay, that should make things clear enough for you. I remember the time when 300k - 500k for overnight was the norm, I'm afraid those days are long since gone.

I personally know some non-working girls who go for ladies night and they generally do NOT want a pick up. Just out with their friends for the music and drinks - although sometimes the "nafsu" takes control. I have also gone to CJs and BATS with freebies as well, and they like to watch how you interact with all the inevitable offers that come from the working girls. Once I tell girls "no" or "I don't pay", they might think about lowering their price to see if I will bite. I would be much more concerned with the guys going to these places paying 2-3 times the norm. If I have a girl I am interested in that is willing to leave with me for free I am not going to turn it down simply because some guys think I am ruining the scene. Sorry.

As I pointed out, I am honest and upfront with the girls from the get go. Tell them right away I do not pay and I am here merely to enjoy the atmosphere. Many girls will leave me be, but there are some that for whatever reasons choice to stay and enjoy my company, eventually agreeing to leave with me with no obligation of money. Stadium back then before it closed used to be good for freebies too, particularly on weekends. Craigslist and Tagged are good, but be careful of the no-shows and fakes.

However, my advice would be to take them somewhere other than your home to prevent the imminent drama that will happen later when you want to get rid of them. Indo girls can get very emotional / jealous easily even if they know it's a casual encounter.

If you're lucky, it may even work to your benefit more than the lay itself. I used to know the granddaughter of a very controversial local politician and got plenty of nice gifts every now and then.

One more thing. Sometimes a hooker (yes, I'm sure they are) in places like CJ's wants to pretend for a day she's not a hooker, so they won't ask for money. So I would say Dragonfly is better.

X2 and Immigrant are pretty much the same, but I have had more luck in X2 in weekends.

What I usually do is make up a story that I somehow lost my keys at the club and that I'll be using my friend's place. This way they won't give me drama when it's time to leave or show up unannounced. By the way, there's nothing wrong with taking a girl to any regular hotel nearby. If she's really into you, she'll go wherever you take her (though obviously not places like Jaksa).

There are freebies all over this town, I have scored using tagged, IndonesianCupid, LoveHappens, in a MacDonalds, a Blok M cyber cafe, at the gym, with several bar staff, sales promotion girls, at work, on the Busway (three times) and following a wrong number (that was fun with my wife in the next room) and that's just off the top of my head.
