the word is to always carry a photocopy of your passport which i understand is deemed acceptable. it seems like a small precaution worth taking if you are bar-hopping.

Is there a list of all the bars that got raided in the last year or so?

The dancers just keep getting chubbier. More blah looking. Its still easy to find a few cuties, but criminy about 40% of the dancers could knock off ten (or 20) pounds.

I was going to cancel at the Swiss Hotel, I told them by email I was going to cancel. But then, I changed my mind, but I told them I still had concerns about the raids and arrest. Here is their reply:

"Thank you for confirming your room reservation, we'll now confirm it. Business usual here Sir, nothing to worry about."

By business as usual, he means have fun at the clubs and do not worry.

by business as usual, he means have fun at the clubs and do not worry.[/quote]honestly friend. i think you are way too worried about this. i was there just a few days ago and it was no big deal. the clubs are all up and running and though there isn't a ton of traffic (i was there during the week) , nothing felt all that out of place. if anything the girls were really desperate for business. go. enjoy yourself. be smart.

bars in the states get raided all the time for anything from **** drinking, to gambling, to whatever. drinking a beer and talking to a girl in an angeles bar is not illegal. i think carrying a copy of your passport is a smart move.

Besides being not smart and getting my pocket picked (my fault) , things are pretty normal here (which means, if you've not been here before, its a whole new world). The only thing out of place is that the bars have vehemently stopped using the word 'barfine'. Just ask how much is the early release and they will tell you the price. Hotels seem to be at / near capacity.

Also, the S/T bars on Santos St are still charging 700-750, but have all lowered the timeframe from 4 hours to 2 hours in your room. No reasonable explanation, each mama has said, "Owner decide it."

I fully agree about the passport copy. I always have a copy in my back pocket. Any foreign country travel automatically signal to do this.

Just a quick question, me being an avid photgrapher, I carry a digital SLR around with me. I've seen videos of bars such as doll house where plenty of of cameras are taken inside. Did any of you see people taking their SLRs inside too? This is just to get some good shots of the girls before the fun. Does the bar charge you anything to go inside? Or can you go in and out without problems? Is it safe to go around angeles for one evening with a SLR?

Thanks, [/QUOTE]Used to be fine. They are less and less OK with it now (for whatever reason). Some now have sign on the wall, NO VIDEO OR PHOTOGRAPHY. Even if no sign, if you pull out the cam, girls will start telling you its not allowed. I used to take pics in every bar on every trip.

RK, same on the passport copy. I get color photocopies at Kinko's, and put one in every luggage and carry one in my back pocket at all times. Have only been asked for I'd twice, once in phils and once indonesia. Both times the copy was fine.

And the last 2 time I came back from there flying into Detroit, I and every single male I saw go through customs was asked if he had a camera. I saw a bull dyche customs woman go through a guy's cam. I passed through. No cam. They could have searched and still no cam. Never give them enough evidence to convict you with.
