LBM's account is confirmed elsewhere in the news. People from Bangkok are fleeing to Hua Hin and Pattaya. Roads are packed.

Hotel rooms in these resort are getting scarce and prices are going up. People are hoarding water and shelves are becoming increasingly empty in stores.

Damn, I am flying in for a longer holiday later next week. I am almost hoping things get worse so I can cancel my flight and get a refund.

I drove to Bangkok on Thursday, a one hour drive took 5 hours due to people trying to leave town, the roads to Issan were packed. There are cars parked on both sides of the tollway for about 20 miles to prevent them from getting flooded.

The traffic heading to Pattaya was backed up about 25 miles, both due to people running for safe grounds and also because the tollway was free for the day.

Things should be better on Monday when the "holiday" is over.

I'm scheduled to fly in and out of BKK Suv airport Nov 18th and out Dec 1. Staying Pattaya first 6 days. Then 3 in Singapore. Final 2 days in lower Suhkumvit area of BKK.

Highly recommended: The 600 baht First Class theatre at Central Festival. 6th floor. The car park at my condo has 8 levels. Only 3 are normally filled this time of year, but now all levels are filled to capacity and most of the condo units are occupied.

Traffic from Jomtien to Walking Street was bad last night and parking was hard to find everywhere. The go-go bars were jumping and the street was crowded. Beach Road was blocked off but I wasn't able to see why. Falang food was in good supply at the 24 hour Food Market in Jomtien.

Looks like high season has come early.
