Gen Santo city is a big fishing port not much mongering there, I'm not sure why you want to go there, just go to Daveo instead or stay in manila or ac.

I was in Gen Santos in March for a week and was bored when I was not with my chatmate. I stayed at Sydney hotel which is one of the nicer ones there and I recommend it. Spent one day watching a fishing boat being built (see attached pics )which was the most interesting thing I did there when I was not enjoying my chatmate..lol.. My suggestion would be to spend your time in Davao and not Gen Santos.
I was just going to take a side trip from Cebu to meet a little honey I've been chatting with there. It costs nothing on CP, just over 1000P air fare.
Bigcebu, I don't know why noone goes there, can you enlighten me a bit more please? All of Fils is unsafe if you don't keep your wits about you.
I've never been to GSC, but have been to DV and CDO, and have never heard anything about GS being dangerous.

The best source of info here on ISG for Mindanao is GoodEnough. If you have any lingering doubts, ask him.
My advice is to go there and meet your friend.
I agree with BigCebu on one point...you should try to visit Davao. And thanks for the interesting pictures NightRider. Did they build that thing from scratch, or were they refurbishing it?

They built the boat from scratch..Only power equipment they used was a backhoe on a truck they would use to hold the plates of steel up to the boat to be welded. Did not see a hard hat or safety shoes anywhere. All that steel being lifted and cut and no accidents.. Unbelievable.. Saw them fix a cutting torch line with electrical tape too...lol.. ONLY in the Philippines ..ha ha ha

Btw, I did not succeed booking cebu pacific with both a VISA and a Mastercard- both from one credit card provider ICS. I start to think you need a creditcard from a bank. Or maybe its just a time out error from Cebu Pacific to some creditcard providers. It has nothing to do with having or not having a security code I found out.

Ok I just visited Zamboanga for 4 days. Two nights in Perlita Hotel (1100 pesos per night) and 2 nights in Lantaka Hotel (1400 pesos per night). The Perlita is very girl friendly. The Lantaka not so girl friendly but quite classy and you can get around the strict policy by paying for two rooms. One for you and one for the girl and her family. [You can never go anywhere with the girl alone. Always some friends or relatives will be there too, so you need to be prepared to buy food food food for them. You can have wireless internet in the hotel lobby. The girls in Zambo are young and beautiful and many are showing on cam or sending their nude pics for money. But not so many of these are ready for sex because of boyfriends or too young etc. I found one though who was a 9/10 on body and looks and she is willing to go with foreigners. Her name is Lenlen and you can get her contacts through me.

The strange thing is that my friend and I have the same bank but he has a Visa Card :confused:

This February I visited Boracay for a couple of days. Evening (about 9pm-10pm) in Cocomangos bar (near the White Beach in Boracay’s Station One district) there were many FLs. I started to talk with one cutie and bought her a drink (she asked the Frozen Margarita). Suddenly the girl said she must go now, she put aside her Frozen Margarita which was still more than half full and walked away with her friends. I was puzzled a little bit. Couple of minutes later I also walked from the bar and saw the girl walked down the street at some distance from the Cocomangos. I approached her. She explained the police come to Cocomangos "to catch prostitutes" (I did not notice policemen in the bar, maybe because it was dark and crowdy or maybe the policemen were not in uniform). She said police come after prostitutes several times per week and the girls would have to pay big money to them if they catch them.
We went to some other bar on the beach and agreed for ST in my hotel room for something like 1000 or 1200 peso (LT was possible too, but I did not want as I had to wake up early next day). She give me her mobile number and next day I called her and agreed to meet at my hotel room again.

I just tried to send a reply and it stuffed up I think, I'll try again. (Also, I wrote about Camiguin in Feb'08, and should mostly still be relevant.)
CDO. I stay at Chali Beach Resort, about 15 mins out of town. No beach, but nice pool, bungalow rooms, breakfast/restaurant. About the same distance the other way is the Lauremar Hotel Resort at Opol Beach, looks ok, nicer beach. If you want to stay in town, Mallberry Suites has been recommended on this board.
Camiguin. I usually stay at Bahay Bakasyunan, very relaxing place, good pool & restaurant, maybe a bit expensive now as it always jumps in price whenever I go back. Paros is another option, also a good pool, can get crowded there with groups sometimes. There are quite a few options out near Paros that are cheaper. Go to the hot springs one evening, nice to soak there and relax. If you travel around a bit on Camiguin, there are waterfall, cold springs, soda springs that are worth checking out. White Island is good for the banca ride out and the view of Camiguin. Take your camera.

I am planning a trip to Puerto Galera in a couple of weeks and after RTFF'ing still have a few questions if any one can share the wealth.
I found out there are no ATM's on the island, so in planning my trip I need to make sure I bring along enough cash. Can anyone give my an idea of what the attentions of a lass might equate to for a ST or LT visit? Also if you have a general (or specific view if you like) of the quality/quantity of the offerings at Sabang or White beach. Those are the only two places I am remotely familiar with in Galera.
This is my first trip to the area, so I am truly clueless as to how much meals cost, booze, etc.
