Has anyone been to the Blue Dalphin Club? It is suppose to be an upscale gentelman's club in Sosua.
What are the room rates?
Is it O.K. to visit the bar if you're not staying there?
Is there take out?
It looks nice.

I am still looking for a place to stay for the week I will be in the DR so I sent them an e-mail after seeing your post. I asked them the same questions. I will let you know what I find out if you're interested. If there isn't anyone here on the board that has stayed there or has any info on it, I may in the spirit of the board, TOFTT and book a few nights there next week. Then I can post some info that will be helpful to others.

Yes, I have seen many reports about that place. I have that as a last minute option for me if I decide to stay in the city itself. I look forward to your review of NewGarden since it will probably be the most current relative to my trip.
This address may work better if you want an English version of the hotel's website : www.newgardenhotel.net. I think your link was a different hotel but I was not sure since it was in a language foreign to me. I'll keep in touch, so far you are the only person from the board that will be down there when I am I think.

This is not centrally located hotel. It is on the way to Voramar and it is somewhere bteween Plaza Caribe and Voramar. You need a motoconcho everytime when you want to go to the beach, disco, bar, Sosua centre etc...
Only 1/2 block from Rocky's and Pedro Clisante. Two miles from the Voramar.

IMO New Garden Hotel is one of the best places to stay.
I'm booked there for a July trip...
Girl friendly? Nope.
New Garden used to be called Garden Keti. I think the owner got a new wife who didn't like the hotel being named after the old wife. Just up from Rocky's.
I'm looking at going back to el salvador for a trip but I've been missing the DR alot. I've been staying away due to the weather forecast. The trip would be for a little over 3 weeks.
1. What are the days really like....afternoon rain everyday...can I plan an outdoor trip or probably not?
2. Can a girl hang out the entire night if you get her in your room before 12
3. I know sosua has a supermarket but last time I was there food was running $12/15 US a plate in an average restaurant. I assume inflation would have risen those prices since ? I do like the little joints but not in excess.
Rain in DR or rain in El Salvador I cant decide both are humid and both have good sex.
There are a few place in Sosua that you can eat for cheap. La Graviola serves cheap dominican food. The chicken place on Pedro Clisante, near where "The Palace" use to be serves a half bbq chicken for 100 pesos and a big glass bottle of coke for 20 pesos. Less than 4 dollars for a big meal.

......its Pollo Pedro's! :) That guy has done pretty well for himself. Used to be located on the opposite side of the street. All you need to do is get a couple grills, set up a canopy tent over your cookers, set up about 6 plastic tables with chairs - and your in business!
Respectable chicken for cheap! Just make sure your chicken is cooked thoroughly though, I've had a few friends who have had some bad experiences eating there. :(
cheers............
