I know a Filipina (in Davao) who has just missed her period, had a positive to a pregnancy test, worried as hell, and is keen to take action, medically, not surgically. The medications you mention will do the trick but getting hold of them is the hard part. Its illegal for a doctor to prescribe them. In Manila the girls go to the church in Quiapo and ask to speak to 'helpers' to buy the drug. All very hush hush but happens every day. After she takes a big dose of this she will have a spontaneous abortion, I. E. A big bleed (hopefully) into the toilet. She probably will need the care of a specialist Gynaecologist who will perform a 'D & C' procedure (Dilatation & Curettage) to remove any retained products of conception. Expect fake admonishment and theatrical gasping form the Doc about the fact that she 'killed' her baby. Ignore it, its all part of the every day hypocrisy of the RP. This step is important and needs to be attended to or she may die.

GE or Dragonslayer may be able to point you in the right direction in Davao. Its not my hunting ground.

I highly recommend their organization as being very professional, and delivering the goods.

I know girls who have tried to buy mifepristone in Cebu and were sold sugar pills or whatever. I've never been to Davao but if you buy locally it seems perfectly possible that you will get screwed.

YOU DO need to be near appropriate medical care in the rare event that a complication arises. However, a medically induced abortion is undetectable and indistinguishable, even to a doctor, from a spontaneous miscarriage. So there will be no gasps or accusations.

I'd like to add, also, that she MUST get a sonogram before using mifepristone because if it is an ectopic pregnancy, serious health risks can occur. This is very cheap in the Philippines, less than 1000 p if I recall correctly. They will give you the results immediately, so it's not a hassle.

You're right an ectopic would be disastrous. An ectopic is unlikely but always possible so yeah, let's agree that she needs to see an Obstetrics specialist sooner rather than later.

Speaking of my experience, I was away overseas on business when she aborted & suffered ongoing major bleeding. Over the phone I booked her into a good specialist at Makati medical Center. The girl did get the full hypocrisy treatment (she informed the O&G what she had done). I think she did the right thing, it's better to be up front and honest to the doc rather than hide medically relevant info.

Agreed this is not a medical board, again would I strongly advise anyone considering an abortion in the Phils to simply refer to the [B][URL=www.womenonwaves.org]Women on Waves[/URL][/B] web site, it is an invaluable reference, and explains exactly what medical abortions are and how they work in detail, including what precautions to take and why. There is actually a specific, correct way to to take the drugs, not just chowing down on a bunch of mifepristone and crossing one's fingers. Following the procedures correctly [I]vastly[/I] reduces the chance that any follow-up intervention, such as dilatation & curettage, will be needed.

Final thing I would mention, is that while a sonogram is absolutely necessary, it is not necessary to visit an OB-GYN to get one here, in fact it's quite possible for a woman to visit an OB-GYN for an exam here and end up [I]not[/I] getting one. What she needs to do is go to a lab, there are always plenty near the hospitals, and just walk in and ask for a sono. You don't need a note from your doctor or any of that shit like we do in the USA or elsewhere. An OB-GYN exam certainly won't hurt but the sonogram is what she must have. You CANNOT do this procedure if it's ectopic pregnancy, or after the twelfth week of pregnancy for that matter, so it's better get started as soon as possible if she wants to go this way, particularly if you are obtaining the meds from abroad, as shipping can take a few weeks.

Unless a monger is a doctor, safety first and find the medical services that are there even if abortion is illegal in Philippines.

I put my stomach issues here as I don't think it is proper in AC tread. May God or the papal forgive me.

Anyway I have experienced some bad stomach issues the last couple of months. I can track it back to some seafood I ate in Soi 11 as my stomach suddenly where achin of pain. At first I did not think of it to much as I thought it was some sort of instant food poisining. I bought some meds at the pharmacia to ease my pain doing the Imodium routine and adding in some tabs caring the stomach cramps. After this experience I have not, until yesterday, had a proper shit and on and off with achin pains in the abdominal region.

After reading with great interest in the AC tread about the Ciprofloxacin I consulted my inhouse doc (close friend which happens to be touring the great Canadian outback at the moment). Got the hold of him through a rather shitty satelite phone and he told me that the meds at stake here had a wide range of taking care of various sorts of bacterial stomach issues. He underlined this was not a proper examination and a stool sample would be of great interest to direct me to the actual cause of my pains. But as he knows me I don't need it perfect so He recomended me to atleast try the Ciprofloxacin as in try it one or two times dont make me resistant permanently in case it did not work out as i wished for.

So yesterday arriving in BKK I bought 20 tabs(500mg) of drug mentioned. I popped 2 tabs and after 2-3 hours I popped another 3. Shortly after i had the first proper shit (firm in its holdings with the genuine colour) in months. Could almost feel my stomach recalibrated into its old fashion. I have got myself a new lovestory dealing with drugs and now feel I am in heaven. I look so forward to my next toilet moment. Thank you forum and its contributors to guide me into the heaven of Ciprofloxacin.
