Walking around PP after dark alone is not my thing. Is it possible to barfine a gal at 3 pm on a weekday?
Suggestions for the best street and bar for early afternoon action?
I'd pay 50 + the BF for a few hours.
Well to the previous poster who has been mongering all around the world, why are you paying them in USD? Pay them local currency...Well going by the reports Cambodia is crap then and expensive. Pity.
Just a quick heads-up: I understand the suspicion of foreigners coming in and refusing to use the local currency, but in this case the USD is accepted official currency in Cambodia, and widely used even by most locals for any cash purchase over $50 US. The biggest Cambodian paper denomination is only equal to about $25, and that's the 100 k riel note, which is pretty rare to begin with. You'll usually only come across the 10 k or 20 k notes, which are just $2. 50-$5, so that's a lot of paper to be waving about and tallying up while you're paying that barfine; most bars and bargirls prefer the simplicity of the USD, as do pretty much any other business. If it's under $20 USD, then better to use riel, so a handful of drinks at a bar, or that short-term hotel / dive you're 'impressing' your new friend with, is fine.
Finishing up another week-long visit to PP, my third trip in a year. Had tried out the bar scene on past visits (you can follow my username for those posts), but decided to check out Sky Massage Nuru this time, as it's one of the few places that offers daytime services. (Most bars don't open until 5 pm-6 pm, and don't get going until 8 pm-9 pm). This the Sky Massage nuru spot on Str 398, not to be confused with the similarly named 'Sky Massage & Sauna," on Str. 310, which I haven't been to. The one on Str 398 is more well-known now, due to its highly active Telegram channel that will feature the girls (or the heavily photoshopped / Beauty Cam'd version of them). You can use their booking channel to make an appointment, or just show up; they're in a reasonably quiet area of BKK1. (That's a neighborhood in Phnom Penh, not 'Bangkok,' BTW).
Sky Massage on Str 398 offers an all-Vietnamese staff, with prices at either $100 FS (60 min oil massage) or $130 (70 min "nuru special"), with discounted rates for just BJ or HJ. So a steep rate for the city, or compared to a nuru spot in say, Bangkok. And just in case anyone wonders: FS is part of the price, there is no uncertainty about that. I went a few days ago: made an appt by reaching out to the Telegram channel, who basically just said to come over. I arrived in afternoon, no one else seemed to be around. Huge construction site going on next door, though, with insane levels of noise. (A Mercure hotel is being built, I think). Enter through open gate facing street into an open outdoor lounge area, with a pool, bar, and lounge area. One staff member will show you a menu of prices and offer a drink, then use a walkie-talkie of all things (what is this, the 1980s?) let a girl know to get ready. There's no lineup, but they said that you can choose another girl if you don't like the one offered.
Went upstairs where another staff member escorted me into a weirdly overlarge room, where after a minute the girl arrived. I was half-expecting some middle-aged crone, figuring that the Vietnamese pros who wind up in Cambodia aren't exactly top of the line, but was surprised to see an attractive girl in her mid-20's. Good figure, nice face, lots of tattoos as is customary for Viet girls. Got everything I wanted during the session; girl wasn't into kissing at first, but soon loosened up a bit. When I started DATY, she even dragged me back to the bathroom tub so that I could eat her out without fear of getting the bed wet. We went the full 70 mins, no cutting it short or rushing, so that was nice to see. At the end she gave me her personal Telegram contact, and said she'd take me to get Vietnamese food one night.
All in all the session was a good one, but I don't think I'd repeat due to price. Main reason to come here would be for daytime action, as most of Phnom Penh p4 p activities are in the evening, when the bars open. Picking up girls at bars is about $50-$70 for short-time action, about 1-2 hours, though you also need to factor in barfine ($20'ish) and 2-3 lady drinks (another $20'ish), which works out to about $110, so about the same price as Sky Massage. But with the bargirls, you can take them back to your hotel and spend more than an hour, whereas at Sky you're always on the clock, and on their turf. And compared to Bangkok nuru or massage FS options, it's far more expensive; most Bangkok spots are about $70-$90 for one hour, unlike Sky's $100 oil or $130 nuru.
If you've got a thing for Viet girls while you're in Cambodia, though, or if you're unable to bring girls back to your hotel, it may be worthwhile. And if you can only monger in the daytime, it's one of the few games in town. However, that construction noise next door, damn. I haven't been to the Sky on Str 310, so cannot comment on its service, or what kind of girls are there.
Hope this review is somewhat useful for mongers. I'll follow up with an update on my experiences with the bar scene shortly. This time I braved the blinginess of Street 136, with some surprisingly good luck.
Well to the previous poster who has been mongering all around the world, why are you paying them in USD? Pay them local currency.
The dollar is the local currency. To get a visa on arrival, immigration will only take good old American dollars. It seems that the government is trying to get the KHR more widely used, but the dollar is accepted everywhere, and prices are always in USD. Sometimes USD / KHR.
<SNIP> It seems that the government is trying to get the KHR more widely used, but the dollar is accepted everywhere, and prices are always in USD. Sometimes USD / KHR.
I have been working in PNH for extended periods and it's true that the government is trying to get the KHR more widely used but, as PM says, the USD is still king.
However, Grab quotes fares in KHR and I always carry plenty of both currencies. I tend to use KHR more than USD these days but there is no hard-and-fast rule.
The dollar (USD) IS NOT the local currency. It is widely accepted, especially for larger transactions but the Riel is the local currency. And no, prices are not always in US dollars. Get your facts straight.
Well Fosi my friend, you missed the golden days by about 20 years I am sorry to say. Cambodia is not crap but for mongering it is not the best destination. More beauties in VN and cheaper if you can avoid all the scams. Similar money and way more options in Thailand. Goos luck wherever you end up!

And is absolutely accepted there, for large and small transactions. One of us has our facts wrong.
I can't recall seeing prices in only KHR there, but I'm probably wrong about that.

You pay for your visa on arrival with US Federal Reserve Notes to the smiling uniformed employee of the Cambodian government.
It's the de facto local currency. Bro.
Prices are in dollars every store I've been to, and I'm sure 99% of the gals will happily take a 50 or a 100.
I'll be traveling in a month to Phnom Penh. I'm looking for a couple of recommendations. The first is the best club to checkout for non-pros. So amateur college girls who might be interested in normal one-night stand without paying. Just curious if there is such a place.
And then what recommendation for a place with LEGAL girls.
My experience of PP was not so good, perhaps because I had recently been in Laos where the girls were prettier, younger and slimmer. And cheaper. Yes, there are lots of beer bars in the centre of PP, all with plenty of girls sat outside, but the quality just isn't there. I paid $30-50 (+beer fine of $10-20) for a number of girls but none were amazing. It was very good to be able to take them back to my girl friendly hotel just round the corner. Knowing that the girl had handed her ID in to reception was reassuring. Reception always gave me a call before handing back the ID.
I'm not one for sitting in a bar talking to a girl, buying her lady drinks. The girls don't speak enough English anyway. I'd rather get straight in to the deed!
The street walkers along the Mekong came out later on and were nothing special and some were a bit aggressive.
2 nights was enough for me.
You seriously think people straight off the plane are going to have a pocket full of Riel to pay for their visa? Of course they take USD. How do you think they pay for their Range Rovers? As for dollar prices, how many times have you received US quarters, dimes and nickels back in change? Didn't think so.

.
You will not even get close to the Mekong; I assume you mean the streetwalkers along Tonle Sap.
