I am asking for advise from the seasoned South Coasters.
I am flying into SDQ late on an upcoming Friday afternoon and I have plans to rent a car and to drive to the North Coast that Saturday for my vacation. I know the SD traffic can be heavy and I don't want to wait around to start my drive at night, so staying in the area makes sense to me, then leave in the morning for my drive.
I have been to the DR over 10 times and I am familiar with the driving in the DR. I would like to stay at a hotel close to the airport or possibly Boca Chica and don't want to break the bank. I don't necessarily need a chica friendly place as I am happy to wait for the North Coast for that. The Quality Inn looks a bit expensive for my taste, and I have seen Hotel Zapata at about $65 US and a place called Hotel Angel Gabriel (sp?) at $45 (both in BC) but am looking for advice on where to go. I will need to park my rental, so I need to feel safe ther also.
Any input here is appreciated and I have until the first of Feb. To finalize things.
Thanks in advance
Thanks for the info I contacted them today and made my reservation. How far of a walk is it from this hotel to some of the casas on Pasteur.
Chris
I took Boricua's suggestion and booked La Morada and in future too, will be happy to go back. New place with the necessary amenities. I parked my car right in front and fortunately there was space that might not be available if there are more guests with cars.
There were woman on the street right around the corner and a couple of blocks south towards the water. There were a bunch of clubs but others can tell you more about it as I did not have to access any of those.

Chris
I stayed at Hotel La Morada for 2 weeks in December. Had a good time. The two front-desk guys that work during weekdays both speak English. The one who covers weekend nights doesn't. All and all, a great place. The roof top has a bar, restaurant and a jacuzzi, but all not yet operational. The manager (owner's son) who is American educated, told me he was taking steps to have them all up and running this month or February. I stayed at Riazor several times before but La Morada is the best you get for your money. Ask for room 307. The hotel is chica friendly, and as already said, very strong wifi. Lots of SW. Enjoy!

La morada
First went there last year when they opened. Very gf friendly. The guy at the front dest would let us go to the roof with girls at 4 am to kick it. Liked it a lot expect for the small bathrooms and limited hot water. Tried to go back like 3 months later and things changed drastically. No alchol in the rooms, one girl per day policy, one girl at a time, no going to the roof. Same people working the front desk, the cute girl Catherine and the short black dude at night. Left after one night to jaguar and ran into an american who left La Morada also. He said he tried to bring a different girl to his room in the afternoon after droping the first girl off. He was told he couldn't do that but he went to his room with the girl anyway. The owner called the police and they ended up knocking on his door! Never ever going back even if they went back to their old policies.
BoricuaOnline can you please elaborate on it!
I had this conversation with Waleska by message text while visiting Jaosousa at Conrad Condado Plaza in San Juan Puerto Rico:
W: Hi boricuaonline greetings from Santo Domingo.
BO: Waleska my girlfriend from GBP!
W: Yes papi but I am not in GBP anymore, when are you coming papi?
BO: I expect to spend a weekend by mid February, where are you know? What are you doing?
W: I am in another place papi come visit me please, kisses.
BO: what is the name of the place?
W: Is another place nicer than GBP and I am the manager the name is Caribbean House call me when you are here ok?
BO: Where is it located?
W: Is on Pedro Livio Cedeno near the cemetery that is by the Maximo Gomez. Come papi, I miss you, you are always nice. I have to go bye.
That is actually the info I have, will get more from her later. This is actually a translation from Spanish, contrary to most dominican girls she wrotes excellent, no grammar errors.

This hotel revenues comes exclusively from room rentals and they do not have much rooms. The terrace bar can, t generate profit just by serving hotel guests; besides guests no one else knows this 'not in service' terrace exists. This hotel is a perfect place to make a puta casa with short term theme rooms.

Not one hot girl
This most be the place.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oARj3QU0AeQ
None of the girls are hot. The place looks good and if it is where BO says it's in a good locale for me. But the quality of the girls in the video are not selling the place for me. The advertisement should be with top shelf girls. I've seen much better on the streets. I do like that they open at 9AM.
I might try them one day around 2 or 3 pm to see how they are.

No hot girls?
This is a scary thought but the girls in the video might be the hottest who are there. One thing for sure, it won't be GBP prices. Let us know how you make out.

The highlight was when Bill Gates takes her bra off like Houdini, is that Jaosousa?
Come on guys, this is third tier toto.

The video is close to 4 months old. I'm sure their had some turnover of staff and there are different girls or additions. If the price is right and the facility are average it it would be a good addition to the Santo Domingo scene. I will give it a shot in 2 weeks I and I'll report back

True I thought about how I always venture off the beat and path of the average mongerer.
That place Borica put up is nice but it reminds me of one of those 100$ hour 1 pop places. High pressure uncomfortable joints. I will admit GBP is a major dump but a guy can always take her out. The thing that is bewildering about GBP IMHO is the quality of chicas there is not that bad. The only chica that I have seen there more than 1 year though is the famous big booty negra. I forget her name.
Peace,
BBL

When I first went to Santo Domingo, I went to all the Casa's, but just did not like the experience. Now, I can be deep in the barrio, but again that is not and should not be for everyone. You have to fit in so no one will try to hustle you or take advantage of you. At the same time, you are meeting those 18. 20 year olds who in many cases have not met or even talk to a gringo, but want too. Again, you step out of the normal that is when you will meet some hot girls that you would never meet at the casino or maybe see ion Venezuela, but might be with a group of people you cannot talk too. I was in the barrio a while back at and was at the big supermarket (La Sirena) I forget how to spell it and the girl asking if I wanted to sign up for a loyalty card was hot. I asked for her number told her she was pretty made a few jokes and she gave me her number. Again, you cannot do that being in the usual mongering spots. Will not work. I want the girl who is not in the game but wants to go out have fun dress up and look sexy. I have learned how to dance and I am telling you if you can dance you can pull all kind of hot chicks.
Quickly, with respect to dancing, it is not you doing all the moves all you do is have good foot work to the music slow and smooth it is almost like a two step back and forth. If you watch the smooth players on the dance floor, they let the girl do all the work and girls love to show off. Just my two cents.
