Any way after reading this in his post (A couple bros I met during my trip to Medellin, one being a ISG forum member, and another guy who met you in Mayorista.) I decided to check his prior 4 posts, and guess what no trip report for his so called MDE trip. That leads me to believe he is either a guy who doesn't give anything back to the forum or he is making shit up, and talking thru his asshole. Either way not the kind of person I would want to hang with.

Sometimes it backfires on us because they have their own agendas and want to do it their way. It also takes away from our adventure in the long run. Just look at the veterans, Ricker, MHL, Mani, and a few others on this board, they all roll solo. Maybe if the newbies took time to understand that we are giving back it would be a better experience. I've come to understand that there is a new breed that experienced the old Brazil and consider themselves seasoned mongerers who only need an introduction. But are they really worth our experience?

It might be time John, for us to be a little more selfish and concern ourselves with our own happiness. The longer I stay in this game I realize why the veterans don't fuck with newbies or young guys.

A lot of my friiends are starting to dabble in "swinger clubs" now and telling me that they are popping up in a few exclusive areas with some very hot "normal" girls. I might have to indulge.

They are vulnerable and easily let their guard down easily offering up personal and private information and into their circle of friends. A lot might have to do with maybe the sense on loneliness in a foreign "dangerous" country or even looking for that comfort zone.

BUT take a step back before you spill your beans. Who are you really talking too? Do you really know? Do you have to show your hand to everybody or other gringos just because they are gringos and perceived to be your friends? FUCK THAT, this hobby is full of backstabbing scumbags who would not waste one second thinking about throwing you under the bus to make them look good or to save face. These are sad desperate people in need of plenty of attention that is lacking in their home countries.

In Colombia if I do happen to stumble upon some gringos that feel the need to chat me up, of course I try to be as civil and helpful as possible I'm not an asshole but I don't give up any personal information and NOT EVEN my real name. LOL.

Now I'm sure there are some honest and true stories from mongers about how they met some great other gringo mongers and now they are lifelong mongering partners BUT on the flipside you will read just as many spats and flame wars from gringo mongers throwing each other under the bus and talking shit about each other to other chicas and mongers or whoever will listen (which I feel is the lowest of the low) some true, some lies, and mixes of the truth and lies, who know for sure? You have something to say? Say it to that persons face don't be a pussy. Some examples of this kind of behavior can be seen with your own eyes right here in this forum. You put a little trust in somebody offer some friendly advice, answer that persons questions to the best of your ability and the next thing you know they are talking shit about you.

This is a dirty business people full of scumbags. Don't be a victim, don't show your cards by giving up your personal info.

The more you speak the lingo and understand the culture and know how to play the game, the more fun and better experience you'll have.

I travel solo and enjoy it, and keep to myself, out of safety reasons.

When trouble pops off, I know I am looking for the first exit, don't know about the guy I have befriended or talked with, ready to challenge the bar and looking for me, his new friend to back him up.

I don't do the late night trolls and the clubs bore me, so it's just really me not boring some other guy that is looking for the things.

What this board has help me with is living accomodations, I like the high end and quiet places, and have avoided the frat house places by reading where guys are staying or avoiding.

I'm not a vet or newbie or really a monger, just a guy looking for a place to retire to.

But I completely get what you guys are talking about when it comes to back stabbing and stealing someone's play when they go to the toilet, I've seen the fights break out over those situations, when a hour earlier two guys were sitting laughing and enjoying a beer, enter a woman, and boom instant trouble.

Though I am a lone wolf and travel almost always solo, I have met a couple of cool guys during my travels that I consider close friends and that I now monger with a few times a year but not in Colombia. In Colombia all my friends are Colombian because for the most part I stay out of the gringo hot spots and my mongering buddies are too afraid to go to Colombia.

The recent posts don't convey the actual experience of being in Medellin. I went down from before Christmas to New Years and had a very good time. I stayed mostly at the Castillo, and spent afternoons drinking around the pool at the Mansion. I also spent some time in an apartment in Parque Lleras. I don't go to the casas, maybe I will one day, so I don't have any information about them. I did have a very good time at the Castillo-Mansion. At the Mansion, as you probably know, the custom is that the house invites some girls to hang out in the afternoon until some uncertain time in the evening. And you can invite your own girls also of course. There is a lady there, I think her name is Cindy, and her job is more or less managing the girls, that is, inviting them, and presumably she can fix you up too if you need her to. The Mansion activities in the afternoon were great fun. There were some stunningly attractive women. One guy, it was his first visit, and he had a date with a girl he had met on line, and he kept getting laid before the time for his date. And his sessions at the Mansion, according to him, were just great. So it just strikes me that there is all this analysis on the board, and the fact is that being there and getting laid by beautiful women is just so easy. We did the Chiva bus ride through the lights again this year, it was fantastic. I didn't go to Mango's for New Years, just opted out, it's a little too loud for me. But I did manage to get laid several times that Saturday. The analysis of the board is good, but buying a ticket and getting laid in Medellin is much better.

the holidays were good, but it's back south tomorrow so i can live the actual experience too.
