But I understand somewhat. I have tried taking money out of my Thai account about 10K at a time but it just doesn't seem to last very long. GFs are the worst. They seem to cause money to be spent too rapidly.
Even if I don't need any gadgets, the GF seems to.

I stupidly took the Thai GF to a French restaurant in BKK and the bill was over 4K Baht including drinks. She found out and was a bit pissed off. I mean that was good money that could have been spent on her shopping. So its back to far cheaper non-Thai restaurants in future, e.g. Thong Kee Chinese opposite Robinson has superb roast duck very cheap.

I said meal for more then two...
And if I bar fine three girls x 400 (or up to 1,000 bar fine each girl) and pay them 2,000 up to 4,000 each (depending on city, what is long time, what all they do etc...) for long time that is well over 10,000 baht just in that.
I've been known to take multiples so yes my mongering is on the higher fee side. And that is not taking into account the afternoon MP's or such.
I'm with Tansak KTV. Back home I would always carry $1200. $1500 on me at all times. I almost never used my credit or debit cards and paid cash for anything I needed to buy. I wish more people would use cash instead of credit all the time. It drives me crazy to see someone paying for their $3 coffee with their debit card.
It actually annoys me that I can't carry around as much cash as I would like here in Thailand. I usually carry around 20000 Baht and my gf hates it because she think's I'm either going to lose it or get robbed.

I am off to the airport already to merry DXB; but if any of you are in the vicinity of Soi 21 and Furama/grand millinium; I would tell you to avoid the overpriced martinis at GM (at470 bht) [better to go to Grand Westin]; but one of the best meals I had was at this place for Sharks fin, its right at the first corner (before the 7/11) if you exit Furama to the left. Shark fins soup with Abalone, Abalone in a special sauce and some serious prawns in chilli garlic. I may not stay at furama again, but I'd come back for this meal (though you would need about 5K per person).
And those of you striking out at Suzy Wong as I did can find solace at Thermae. Though my last visit before going to the airport was of course Rin!

Actually, it depends on the electronics. As someone who worked for decades in the electronics industry, I can easily contemplate a bit of gear that's worth 30K - 60K baht and is much smaller than what normally gets put in the aforementioned holes. In fact, lots of the communications gear used in espionage is worth tens of thousands of dollars or more, and is no larger than a person's little finger.

But seriously, I actually make more than 40K nowadays, and yes, I do enjoy my life here. Fact is, I'd probably make no more back in the Bad Place, even if I could find a job!

Actually for Xmas (and for on more day) I got/get to nail the filipino's ministers (who's also headmaster of my kids school) daughter who came for a visit. Boy was it an unexpected albeit joyous and tasty holiday. One for which confirms for sure I'm going straight to hell and my kids are going to never graduate grade school.
First, I think I have to ask the mama in the hotel about this LB story in my hotel. But when Im going throu in my head what she told me (I was a bit tierd when I came back after a whole day at Dreamworld) is that they catched the LB very quickly after she left. Yes, I call them she, I dont know why. Anyway, she told me they searched her cloaths and even hair as it happend before LB were hiding money in the hair (in some way, dont ask). When they did not find they sad: we call police. So, when they start talking about police the LB get scared and shit or pulled out (still dont know) the condom from the ass with 60k bath. If anyone (TP) needs more information, I can ask tomorrow.
Today, I ended up in Patpong after some lurking around in shopping mals. Went to Pink Panther for some looking and Thai Boxing (every night at 23.00). I know the most of you dont like Patpong, but I must say that Pink Panther has some really good looking girls. At 00.30 im drunk and goes to check out Star Of Light. A real cute girl from Isaan is on the coach and askes if I want a BJ. Im playing real dumb and say, what? Can you have a BJ here? Im just looking for a beer. ...no doubt but the chance one of these equipments worth 30k is laying somewhere in a BKK hotel by the owner, picking up a LB for a screw (later maybe finding out he was him being screwed with the robbery...) is one in a billion!
Anyhow looks like it was 60k cash and that is definetely more credible..:)

I was staying at Fx and walked into the nearby Shark Fin with GF (probably Hong Kong or Shanghai style food), expecting prices like at Thong Kee.
The place looked small but many staff.
I had a quick look at menu and then left promptly. Some dishes were over 3K. :( (and not even a fuckable "dish")

I mean Thai Ladies, in particular mama's, but common across many of the female species have a tendency to exagerate a story.
If one has a boyfriend giving her 20K a month, her friend then says she has one giving 30K a month, within a couple of weeks a nearby neighbour is now saying her boyfriend sends her 200K a month and 10 baht gold for her mum 5 times a year.
If a guest had 3K stolen by a katoey in would not take long for the "beer and som tam" effect to take place and suddenly its 60K and stuffed up their arse.
3K has no "beer drinking laugh a lot great story" effect.
60K really pulls the nerds in and gets everyone talking, same effect its had on here.
Therefore, its very likely the katoey stole a small amount, but normal Thai exageration has now made this the sum of 60K baht.
