Will be in Santo Domingo Feb. 21 until the 24 for the weekend will anyone else be there at that time? Looking to stay some place that is convenient to the action, thinking of staying at the La Morada unless someone suggest better. Will need a driver can anyone suggest a good inexpensive driver who knows the monger locations and speaks English. Also where is the best place to exchange my money.
Thanks.
Chris

Chris
If you decide for La Morada there is a good exchange house one block left of the hotel, almost in front of a Pizza Hut. You can also go there if you stay in any Gazcue hotel. If you decide for Colonial Zone Franks in el Conde is the best place.
Thanks for the insight. I think for my first visit to DR I will most def go to Sosua. I don't speak spanish and I like to browse around. If you have ever been to Thailand it sounds like Sosua is more like Pattaya and santo Domingo is like Bangkok. Is that a good assesment?
No. That would be an absolute terrible comparison HK. I would say Sosua is more like Chiang Mai if it had a beach, but just the part at the top of Loi Kroh where those few bars are. You could probably walk around all of Sosua in about 30 minutes. The only way Santo Domingo compares to Bangkok is that they both have a lot of cars, but of course Bangkok has much more traffic. Once I took an hour nap in a taxi in Bangkok and woke up and we had moved about 60 feet.

Chris
There is a driver who sits infront of Hotel Riparbella on Calle Danae right across the street from La Morada. I believe his name is Robert. He speaks English and I have used his services quite a few times. His charges are comparatively modest. However, I do not know whether he knows monger locations. My best guess is, he does, but I am not quite certain. I pre-arrange for out of town / province semi and / or non-professional chicas, and I use his services for pick up and / or drop off at the various bus stations in SD.

Chris
I would stay at apartment Roma on the conde. Way more action and stuff to do than Guazcue. Easier to find strret walkers on the conde imo. Only thing is La Morada is close to the houses but that is a very small part of where I go in sd. Gazcue is a nice safe neighborhood even at night, but for sure the conde is way better, not only chicas but almost everything else.
sounds like Sosua is more like Pattaya
Pattaya is like Sosua on steroids! Really no comparison.

According to local reports in the Dominican Republic, visiting doctors on a medical mission from the US were robbed by two men on motorbikes in Santo Domingo yesterday.
The twenty doctors, who are in the country to provide dental work for poor patients had left their hotel for a stroll at around 9pm. They were then approached by one of the assailants who got off his bike, pistol in hand and told them to hand over all they had.
One of the doctors in the group, Ken Dibble from the University of Utah G3 Medical Foundation, said that they put a gun to his head and told him to hand over his watch, iPad, credit cards, money and rings and that he said he had none of those, but another member of the group had to hand over a US$3, 000 camera and his backpack, according to DR1.
The doctors regretted the incident as they had been coming to the country for ten years and nothing like that had ever happened before.
I'm going to have to interject here. IMHO Dominicanitas are cute to pretty at best. Don't get me wrong I love some DR mami's but beyond their teen years and mid 20's
They become some wretched wenches. Let be honest we have seen many of them that pop out 2 babies and are never the same. Just a sloppy mess. Not to assail the
Culture but the constant beer drinking and incessant fried foods don't aid in a new mother "bounce back" to her original shape.
Now having said that during my first to Rio (and only trip as of yet-planning to go back after the olympics) , my wing man and I were astonished with the vanity and overly.
Cosmetic and ostensibly present society in Rio. Although I have been told repetitively that RIO is no corollary for the entirety of Brazil but, I will be got'damn if I don't say that I almost fucked someones grandmother, no lie. I was hit by 2 hot grannys.
I'm by no stretch of the imagination a cougar chaser but I go after what is pleasing to the eye.
Now, The women in RIO were totally consumed by their looks. And I'm not saying that is a good thing but it made most of the women very nice to look at.
Lastly, from what I was told by a native Carioca that since they were a beach culture they were obsessed with looking good for the weekend beach frolic. That explains the world renowned reputation, constant jogging and super abundance of gyms that we found while in RIO. Not to forget those wonderfully sculpted culos.

that is a tuff one. but i would have to go with the mixed option. hmmmm you say. yeah have the car but avoid peek hours. get a chica from the night before to hang until the morning traffic is gone and find a casa to hang in when the evening traffic hits. that way your chica is off work or out of school and is ready for you to pick her up from her house of the bar.
although one of my fans and often the most difficult is the delivery option. most often you tell your chica to come to you by taxi and you pay for it and of course she has no clue how to get to your place they are no street signs and the taxi driver is going to try and scam you once he looks at our damn gringo face. this is the one where the
chica is on your turf and you just sit back and with for the delivery. dude life sucks in santo domingo with no car, its hard to do. perfect spanish is a plus and local resources is golden.
mho.
again, i think that is fine to take a driver or the bus. you should always do what is comfortable for you. i am a spontaneous guy. so, i am all over santo domingo. also, at night i could be in the barrio or venezuela and if you do the math for me at night just alone how i travel it will add up quickly and cheaper to rent a car. also, what happens is a monger does not want the hassle of jumping in to a taxi all night so they end up doing stuff close by. i have met hot chicks all over santo domingo and juan dolio driving around. for me, picking a hot chica up and driving around with her is priceless to me. i do not want to take a bus to boca chica or juan dolio with a chica, but that is just me. we are all different. when i use to hang with jao we would be all over the place. just hard to do that without a car.
BBL.
I agree 100%. BTW, I was being somewhat facetious in praising the Dominican chicas over Brazil and Colombia.
Need some Info I will be in Santo Domingo first week in April I will be staying Napolitano Hotel for a couple of days. Need the 411 on the best spot to pick up women for the night. Also might need a driver to show me around the area. If any one knows any women and has a female friend or 420 friendly then hit me up. No BS please I am all about papers.
I have seen some very sexy older Dominican women. Dominican women even older dress very sexy. I am a big fan of Dominican women. Since there is so much young stuff I rarely look for the 30 plus babes. I am done with the Dominicanas and the price is right. The prices in Rio are like new York.
