I am not a lawyer but having seen some things on TV, I went into the Auckland Law library to do some more research.

According the Prostitution Law Reform Bill, any one in NZ on a visitor’s, student or working visa is NOT allowed to work in a massage parlor or brothel. What is does not say is that a person with the same visa working on their own, cannot work as a sex worker. So one person on their own seems to be fine, but two or more IS illegal. They have to have at least residency here to do so.

For the purposes of the act, a massage parlor or brothel is defined as anywhere where two or more people are working as sex workers.

The police and immigration in Auckland and Christchurch have been raiding some parlors and some visas have been cancelled and some overstayers have been deported, and some charges have been laid with the Madames.

This information may be of some use to some of you to be able to get cheaper service. I feel so sorry for you guys forking out so much of your hard earned money on these overpriced workers, that you may be able to get some advantage here.

Let us just look at what they earn. Let’s say the fee is $220.00. In most cases, the girl gets all of that if it is not at a usual parlor, like Pelican etc. Say she has two customers a day. That’s $440.00 a day and six days a week, that’s $2,640.00 a week and for a 48 weeks year, (4 weeks holiday) that is over $125,000.00 a year.
