day two of mango's adventures in fkkland. today's destinations, the much researched and anticipated sharks.

at 11:30 am i'm off to the hbf. the ticket machines are easy. just type in the first few letters of your destination and up comes darmstadt. however, here i make a mistake that will haunt me much later, more on that in a bit. there are at least three options from frankfurt hbf to darmstadt hbf, the ic takes 15 minutes, the rb takes 19 minutes, and the s3 (local) takes 38 minutes. i want to get in a bit of a walk, so i'm not bothering with darmstadt nord. as i grab my one-way ticket (foreshadowing) , i look up and lo and behold, there's an rb right there, leaving in one minute. i'm on it and moving.

the walk from darmstadt hbf to sharks is hereby nominated for the 'least charming walk in all of germany' award. i cannot recommend this strategy unless you are pinching every single euro for the girls.

i'm at sharks by 12:30 or so. pay the nice lady and get my towel, bathrobe, and 20 euro discount card that can be used any subsequent monday or tuesday. i think i'll use mine tomorrow. i prefer the lockers here to mainhattan. they are all full size with top shelves and hangers. i also like the money locker set-up, which is inside the club, not at the entrance, and i realize i like the lower profile when paying. the showers are not great, about the same as mainhattan, and the body / hair gel just feels terrible in the hair. i'll be getting a bottle of something to bring with me tomorrow.

first impressions of the club: 1) it is much cleaner, quieter and larger than mainhattan. everything feels new and tastefully decorated. the enormous vaulted ceilings help the cigarette smoke clear away quickly, which i guess would be nice for non-smokers (i only smoke in clubs). it appears all areas of the club are smoking areas, unlike other clubs i have been too. 2) you are never out of eyesight of a tv playing porn. it would be nice if at least one of the screens was playing a football game or something to zone out to in between sessions. what is the point of the cinema, if there all sorts of nooks and crannies you can snuggle up with your choice of vixens and watch hot bodies engaged in industrial banging. i like porn as much as the next fellow, but don't need it constantly in view. 3) i really like the layout, with the bar, tastefully arranged and comfortable couches, and the upstairs area for pool and spa. the upstairs is not free of ladies looking for action, but you generally won't be hasseled much up there.

now what? i just jumped off possibly the last local train of the night in a tiny fart of a german town in december. there is absolutely nothing going on, the station itself is completely dark, and there certainly aren't any cabs. i also manage (while investigating the station itself) to miss another local going back to darmstadt, where i could still catch the 12:25 and be home at a reasonable hour to type up a report for all you fine gentlemen. luckily, i can figure out the timetable and see that there's another s3 (the last of the day) due in an hour.

it's a cold lonely hour on the erzhauser platform waiting for the last local of the day. tomorrow i will buy a round-trip ticket.

Friday, Dec 13 to Sunday, Dec 15, there will be a three day long Christmas Party!

Since I had a great time in Sharks last trip, I would like to arrange 4 or 5 days in Darmstadt and stick with Sharks.

My plan is to stay in Hotel Atlanta, which is within walking distance to both FKK Sharks and Darmstadt Nord Bahnhof.

(I know Hotel Contel is closer to the club, but it is more expensive, so I choose Hotel Atlanta instead.)

And then make good use of the re-entry of the club and my hotel room.

(Walk to the club to fuck, walk back to my hotel room to take a nap, and walk to the club to fuck again later on the same day.)

So, here is my questions.

1. What's the Sharks Re-Entry policy right now?

I looked into the previous posts, I found some people said re-entry is available from Sundays to Thursdays, but not on Friday and Saturdays.

Is the re-entry policy still available from Sundays to Thursdays?

If I am sure that I will need to re-enter again later on the same day, how and when should I tell the receptionist?

2. Is it safe to walk from the club back to the hotel at night (Are there sufficient street lights at night)?

Last time, I walked from Darmstadt Nord Bahnhof to Sharks.

I found that after I take a right turn from Frankfurter Strasse to Carl-Schenck-Ring, part of the sidewalk on Carl-Schenck-Ring is not so pedestrian-friendly.

It is very narrow and you sometimes have to walk on the road with fear of being hit by cars behind you.

It was in the morning with sufficient day light, so my walk from Darmstadt Nord Bahnhof to Sharks was fine.

I notice that there are only few street lights outside the road of the club at night, which will be kind of scary and dangerous if I want to walk at night.

Is there anyone who has the experience of walking through Carl-Schenck-Ring and Frankfurter Strasse at night? Should I bring a flash light with me while walking (to make sure that the cars will not bump into me)?

If you prefer to stay on the right side of the road, no need to walk on the street, just walk on the narrow footpath leading through the small meadow (might be muddy due to rain).

Being in the Frankfurt area means you have choice. Palace, Mainhattan, Oase, World and Sharks.

After a couple of good days at Mainhattan and with a prior visit to Palace that was so-so, I was divided between Oase and Sharks. The word from RB was that I should "take one for the team" and go and get some Intel on Sharks. God doesn't speak often to me and I took on the challenge. From the airport I go the S8 out toward Weisbaden and then the RB75 towards Aschaffenburg (Rocket Boy's personal train?). This train stops at Darmstadt then Darmstadt Nord. I walked about 500 metros to Sharks but got a taxi 10euro / 10mins to the Darmstadt HBHf when I left.

The club is very much as Mango describes it in a recent post. I did find the smoke an issue, especially in the wellness area upstairs. The wellness area has 2 spas and a swimming pool and some seating. It is strange that Football plays in the kino and porno on every other screen. The bar is the only place to get a drink and the showers near reception the only place to shower. The food was pretty good with choice of chicken, a pork casserole and pasta dishes that were pretty good. I explored the place and decided to ascend to the top and take a break on a deck chair. I was approached multiple times by Alexia from Romania, who proved to not take the hint of "maybe later" 5 or 6 times. I was visited by several others, who came and were sent.

I thought Sharks is the most brightly lit club of them all in contrast to Artemis. At Artemis, the brightly lit stairs is the area where you can have a good look at the girls during the evening when the lounge gets dark.

At Artemis there are lit areas like the stairs, Wellness Area and outside in Summer. Generally I stay out of the dark bar area at Artemis because its dark and smokey.

The stairs at Sharks are a challenge for me and I am not in 10 cm heals! The whole place is dark. I was there at night. I asked for a flashlight from the reception!

Even the bistro area is so dark. I cannot see my food clearly when eating.

The lightning should be improved.

By the way, when I ordered the cold non-alcoholic beverage (coke or water) from the bar, the glasses the staff gave me is extremely thin and small.

Therefore, I had to order the beverage for three consecutive times from the super-busy staff at the bar just to make myself "not thirsty".

Why so stingy with coke or water? They are just cheap beverage.

This part should be improved, too.

Maybe just me but I found Sharks dark. Palace is very dark. Mainhattan was dark in the wellness area. The main area around the bar with Football on, not so dark.

Its just everyones impression but basically I do like a decent look (and chat etc) before I walk.
