Brothel in Phnompen especially at the places where it looks like a shop house with part of the door is close is stealing your money. Boom boom cost at this place will cost you around 15 to 20 usd.
We initially did not realise this and thought that we have overspend it some where else. So we put a trap and really count our money before going for a boom boom. True enought, whey you are scre*** the girl or when the girl give you a massage ( with you head down facing the pillow ), someone from outside will open the door and will go thru you wallet. They will always leave some money behind in order for you not to be suspicious.
So guys - be extra carefull when you doing your bussiness at this brothel. You have been warned. It is safe to bring just enought money for the tuk tuk + boom boom and return. Or hold to your money in your hand while your boom boom the girl.
Since you didn't name the location you visited, I assume you had the St 63 brothel experience. If that is the case then you have not read back on the many older posts that warn of such thefts (many of those warnings were from me by the way).
Also the normal prices for St 63 houses are $10 (and under), not the $15-20 you had mentioned as these are the starting prices are for the more honest places in PP.
Hi Gagoo
Nice report and thank you for sharing.
Can you please advise how many hours was your drive to Siem Reap and drivers info maybe?
Thanks
The first taxi was a little slow and cautious, it took him about 4 hours and 40 minutes. I had a feeling a taxi could do it in 4 hours. On the way back we had to negociate a taxi for $55 also, even though it was harder to find one for that price. The driver only took 4 hours flat and that was with a 10 minute stop. It seems like they aren't actually taxi's as in a business, just people using their cars or someone elses car to make a little money.
If it was just me I would have just taken the $10 bus, but I think that takes 5-6 hours. We looked in to the bus when we arrived in PP, but the morning one was full, they only had open seats on the afternoon one, but I didn't want to waste the whole day away on a bus.
I didn't take down any info about the drivers. I think any front desk, knows someone who will take you there for that price. The guy at Cara hotel said no problem when we asked him, so he has a friend or family member take you or something. The owner of the Golden Orange in Siem Reap was also able to find someone for the $55. He tried to change it to $60 when we got in, but my friend was firm on telling him $55, so we had no problems when we paid him. We didn't give any tip, we probably would have gave him $5 if he didn't try to change the price on us.

Pp
Thanks Asshole. That was a great report. I obviously don't have your cojones. I guess I'm just getting too old for all the hassle. Again, interesting report and it expresses my thoughts exactly. You just put a better spin on it.

Tell me it isn't true...
Sophies has closed? I can't bear the thought, I arrive March 6. I just returned home from Rio and can't wait to hit PP, but if Sophies is closed...

Sophie's was open as of a month ago when I was there.

Sophies
Sophies has closed? I can't bear the thought, I arrive March 6. I just returned home from Rio and can't wait to hit PP, but if Sophies is closed...
I was in Sophies on 14 January. It was open on that day. I didn't find it interesting. The momasan and ladies were suspicious of me and my friend for some reason. Momasan tried to talk to me in Khmer 2 times and asked me if I was Cambodian. Also no ladies would even come up to me. I'm half asian-caucasian and can pass many things; but I never have a lack of attention. This was the first time I wasn't approached in such a place. The girls were a little cautious of my white Canadian friend too. A fellow mongerer in Siem Reap said we should check out Sophies and all kinds of dirty deeds would happen to us in Sophies. No such luck for us, also they said no short time in the place. I think they offered my friend $30 LT takeout.
One thing I can say is, the drinks were cheap and very strong. Momasan accidently almost completely filled my glass with Jack, then put barely any coke in the glass, she asked if it was OK,.. I had no complaints. It was open on 14 January though.

I didn't like it, either. I had one beer, with my friend, and left.

To each his own...
Thanks for the info. I'm asian/american also and the only place I've found in all my travels where no less than 3 girls will have you unzipped, in their mouths and tag teaming you by the time your drink arrives, has been Sophies. I just returned from Rio and spent the majority of my mongering in Centro and Villa Mimosa, some don't like those venues but I like variety when I travel. Thanks again for the quick response.

NGO Problem at Sophies
The momasan and ladies were suspicious of me and my friend for some reason. Momasan tried to talk to me in Khmer 2 times and asked me if I was Cambodian. .
I suspect what you ran into was a fear on mamasan's part that you were a Cambodian working with one of the NGOs that tried to shut them down some time ago. An Asian with a Honky would fit that profile. Sorry about that.

Is everyone a thief?
Interesting reading all these reports about robberies at 63 st. But it isn't just the brothels to worry about.
I once stayed at Casa (the hotel near what Phnom) and picked up a cute take-away LT from a bar on the roundabout across from what Phnom (next to that little place that does good pizza) the bar may have been called Cayote Ugly. Or it may have been another one next to it. Was a couple of years back. Anyway. The theft:
Brought the (Khmer) girl back banged her twice. Got a reluctant BBBJ and then called it a night. In the morning we had b'fast together and I considered another round with her next time (was leaving that day).
Back to the room to pack and shower and realized the TV remote control was gone. I searched every inch of the place over and over. It was gone and since we watched TV together several times, it was clear she took it. Hotel didn't notice. And I paid cash. No credit card.
Didn't try the disco or KTV there. To be honest it was a little intimidating. Sort of Asian gangster style with expensive cars and bodyguard drivers. Not worth the hassle/risk IMO.
Also the hotel was really noisy even on upper floors due to the disco. Needed ear plugs to sleep. Smae story in Phnom Penh Hotel. From the drunken Chinese sex tourists.

Street 63 prices
About a year and half ago I was here and took a moto to Street 63. Went up the stairs, saw a bunch of Viet girls sitting around the room. The taxi driver was with me (he insisted on going up) The papasan quoted me $30!!! I assume that this was because the taxi driver was with me. I quickly walked out. Any way around this? How do I get there without having the taxi driver come up with me? (Last time I told him to stay put but he insisted on coming). I'd consider walking there (I"m staying at the Paragon at the moment), but don't really want to walk around this city at night.

A brief report thus far....
Sharky's - walked over there last night about 10 pm. Had one drink then walked out as didn't see any lookers. No Vietnemese were there for some reason.
Rose - took a motodop over to Rose and sat down at the bar. Quite crowded. All of the girls working behind the bar are real lookers, and most have fucking huge tits. Sadly I don't think any of these girls are available for ST or LT. Chatted up a cute Khmer girl but it was quite clear from her push-up bra and stretch marks that she has a kid and was trying to hide the fact (wouldn't let me look at her stomach). It was raining so I ran over to Zanzibar
Zanzibar - great bar but I think most of the girls here are hostesses. A few of the girls here are sisters. Chatted with a few of them for a while but all of them wanted me to buy them drinks. I bought two of them drinks and the other two turned bitchy. Finally got down to one that I really liked but when I invited her home with me she told me that she had to stay and work until 5 am. No idea on prices. Left at 1:30, was going to go to Le Cyrcee but just said fuck it and went home.
Gonna try Martinis tonight and hopefully will have better luck.
i suspect what you ran into was a fear on mamasan's part that you were a cambodian working with one of the ngos that tried to shut them down some time ago. an asian with a honky would fit that profile. sorry about that.
i've seen a few shows on tv lately that where some westerners would go around with some cops and go around busting places in asia for having **** girls. one show was in india and the other show was in cambodia.
sometimes the westerner guy would waste too much time talking and doing no action to the **** girls, then the momasan or papasan would get pissed and accuse them of being cops, or even threatened to kill them.
i figured me and my friend sort of fit in to the profile of being under cover.

you could hardly suggest that the sophies girls were ****!
you could hardly suggest that the sophies girls were ****!
none onthe girls looked **** to be, so i don't know why they are so cautious, and i don't know why they lock the front door. as first timers there, we thought they were closed but decided to knock on the door and they opened it. then , they locked the door again.
my overly cautious friend felt some of the girls were borderline, i didn't pay much attention as i wasn't interested in anything there.
