It is everywhere but you have to develop an eye to spot it
I used to live in Inchon and although I never partook of anything there, I saw action all around and for that matter all over Korea. It is a different game plan in Korea and you have to train your eye to catch it but once you do you will see it all over. It is easiest to spot near the train stations. You will see older ladies just hanging out in the alleys near the station. It will be freezing out and yet they will be standing and it seems that they are doing nothing. Ask yourself, "What the fuck are they doing out on a bitter cold night?" They are hunting for customers for their girl (s). They may not say anything to you if you are white. You may talk to them and if they discourage you then it may be a lost cause. Perhaps you can try the next day and with persistence something will happen. Or perhaps try the next women you see in a nearby alley. I saw this near Seoul Station. Then, too, the same kind of thing occurs in the alleys near the big hotels. I lived for a time in Chochiwon about 90 minutes south of Seoul. There, beautiful young girls would deliver tea on a fleet of scooters to various locations allover. But it was all a front for prostitution. It was in Chochiwon that I first got propositioned by a railroad ajuma and then I began to see it everywhere. I used to take a bus from Inha University. Near the bus stop were these modest storefronts that were open and older women just hanging out. It was a front for prostitution. Be bold in Korea. Say Hello, and see if you get a welcome response. It won't hurt to be friendly.
Exploring the surroundings. Incheon
As promised to myself, and despite the polar temperatures, I got my bicycle and went to check the fun area. Basically the one full of neon lights.
Together with one of my mates, found 6 massage places, as many night bars, one karaoke place offering massages, one Thai massage place offering aromatherapy, and I just checked a few of the buildings in the area.
I also found a place with a single barber pole, but it is not a barber shop and not a massage place, I have still to understand what is it. It looks like a night bar, need to check it out again.
The search for alternative escorts is not going very well. Both backpage and massagerepublic keep offering always the same, and 90% of opportunities are in Seoul. Tried to reach out to some of the so called independents, but almost none responded to my calls.
I also installed wechat and scanned the surroundings for promising contacts, but to no avail. If you don speak and write Korean, chances are indeed slim.
On the freebie side, the offer is also slim. There are a lot of English teachers here in the area, mostly women, but I have to find out where they hang out, assuming they do.
In summary, it is not too bad, like Helsinki or Stockholm, but it is not good either. The sport is there, but it is hard to find and quite expensive. Yeonsu remains the most opportunities rich place so far.
