Remember when you go for a new passport you tell them that you have to keep the old one because of the visa, or they will try to keep it.
When did they start doing interviews for visas? Was it when they started with the 10 year one? And what is the fucking difference? If you do it by proxy then I'm sure they don't interview the person from the company you went through.

If so, this must be something new. I am now on my 5th passport, and I have always had my previous passport returned after it was cancelled. If they are now keeping the old passports, this policy must have started since December 2007, which is when I got my current passport.

Once I sent one in for new pages and it was taking forever to come back. I called several times and they finally told me that they would not be returning it to me because one of the corners on the picture page was coming up. I mentioned the visas I had in it and another agent called me back and told me that there was really nothing wrong with the passport and the person who assessed it must have been new. But it had already been cancelled so I would have to get a new one. He said he would FedEx it back to me and it arrived the next day.
The second time was the day before the new pricing went into effect 2 years ago. Before that I tried to take my passport to the embassy in Peru to get more pages added. They said that I would have to get a new one because in the back cover the lining near the spine had split from keeping it in a passport wallet. Well, I am not on the ground right now BUT I was there last month for about 3 weeks and I was able to just pay the entrance fee with no problem I just told the front desk I was just going to pay the entrance fee and went in. It didn't take me long after just walking in there and viewing the dimes in there I knew within seconds of going in there that I WOULD be doing a session in there the only problem was (which one I wanted to do 1st) LOL.
