Manila vs AC
I'm coming up to the P. I. And I'm wondering if I should hit up Angeles or stay in Manilla? I'll be up there for a week and I've experienced Angeles before but not Manila. Any suggestions would be very helpful! Thanks.
P Burgos in Makati is pretty much the same scene as AC, except with a little more class and twice the price. Havana in Greenbelt 3 is good if you enjoy the chase (you don't have to run very fast). Similar action in Malate. Try Cowboy Grill, Amazonia and Manila Bay. Manila is a great town and definitely worth the trip.

A lot of girls were into me in Angeles because I was different, in shape, alright looking etc. I hope I can find the same in Manilla but we'll see. I really want to experience. The last time I was in Angeles, jarrod? I think that's his name from ABC recommend the Firehouse distract?
Is it raining hard these days in Angeles?
I have been in AC / Subic area last four Summers (July bof August). This July was by far most rainiest of those four. Earlier Julys had "acceptable" level of raining meaning you could forgot your umbrella on bar hop because not likely not to need it all time. This July if you went out on rain break it was most certaiinly raining before you got back. In Subic there was one week of Typhoon and streets were flooded ankle deep of constant rain water.

I'm like a postman!"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds" LOL. I got to go and get mines! Plus here in the states, it cost about $200 per hour for AMP services.

I once sent out some rather detailed statistics about rain in the Philippines. Also got some help from some regulars who gave me some good URLs. I got beat up and down from people saying. Hey, post about the hos, who fkn cares about the weather.
So let me put in in simple terms for the simple guys. Summer, rains like cats and dogs. On the island of Luzon. That would be MNL and AC. Umbrellas, extra shoes socks and in some years thigh high fishing boots. Don't go hiking on Mt. Pinatubo. You fkn get washd away by the lahar.
Southern cities like Cebu and Davao are south of the normal monsoon sweep. Yea, it rains. Usually not all day. Usally not two days of typhoon shit, although that can be exciting in it's own way.
I prefer Visayans, and would always pick Visayans in the summer rainy months. X.

The working girls here though have big issues where in other countries you can meet working girls who are decent girls, not that I would take them home to Mom but they don't lack social functioning skills.

This is the third murder this month of a foreigner in AC. This is from a newspaper here in Hong Kong. As a side note, on my first trip to AC 12 years ago, a bar owner was murder. At that time, I stopped going to AC. I guess much has not changed in AC, it is still the wild wild west. I am not posting this to suggest guys not go, and I know crime is everywhere.
UPDATE: Another foreigner and gf murdered at home!
Friday, July 16
Another foreigner and his girlfriend have been found murdered inside their house in Sta. Maria Subdivision earlier today after a foul decaying smell prompted police to check the house. It appears that the Caucasian foreigner of yet unknown identity was stabbed whilst his girlfriend might have been choked to death a few days ago.
This has happened only days after the murder of the Canadian and his girlfriend in the Oasis Hotel villa. Whether it is the same killer or merely coincidence is still unclear.
Update: The foreigner involved was of British nationality and shot with a 9mm caliber pistol in the face whilst a bullet wound was found in the girlfriends lower body. The caliber used was the same as that of the Canadian case and both presumably used a silencer. Neighbours, however, had heard some shouting between a male Filipino and the slain girlfriend on a date which would have been just before the presumed day of the murder. This, prompting the speculation that the girlfriend might have had an argument with a Filipino boyfriend in the house beforehand.
The two murder cases surely will catch the attention of Angeles City's highest officials who will do everything possible to solve the cases.

Weather and crime
Guys.
August and particularly September are wet months in AC, its Typhoon season and the storms will keep rolling in. Just now there are 3 tropical depressions lining up over the western Pacific and marching towards the Philippines. Check out http://typhoon2000.ph/t2kgraphsat.gif For the latest, BUT Don't let the weather spoil the party, it's a warm rain and at least it cleans the streets somewhat, and trade is a bit slow just now, so plenty of choice in the bars.
If it's any consolation it is just as wet in Patty just now, with severe weather warnings for tomorrow. But hey! What if you do get soaked getting home from the bar! All the more reason for a quick shower together!
My take (as a semi-resident expat in the Philippines) is that the current spate of murders being reported from AC has more to do with with a business feud or a love triangle rather than a simple robbery. I believe it's highly unlikely that a casual tourist visiting AC would become involved in such crimes.
Have fun, but remember to be streetwise particularly after midnight.
This is the third murder this month of a foreigner in AC.
You get clusters of these in AC from time to time. Take home message : AC is ok to visit but lousy place to settle down with a 'steady'. Overall the PI is pretty lousy with kidnapping and gun crime in general. Always keep a low profile and be very VERY careful who you invite into your life there.

Gobbles
Santos St (the street behind Swiss Chalet) blow-row bars: 700-800 gets an hour in the back room, or 2 hours in your room. One of the bars, Gobbles I think is the name, let me have 4 hours.
Perimeter bars, most are 1200 (about).
Fields bars are 1400-1500 mostly. A few of the large places (Atlantis) are 1500-2500-3000 depending on the girl.
SW can be had for as little as 500.
If you take a girl after midnight at Gobbles you can get her until morning for 1000 p, I got a nice one on my last trip there that is very rare for the Blow row, I have got girl at santo last yr for 500 p st back to the hotel for a nice BBBJ.
You should make use of one of those persistent street vendors and buy yourself an umbrella! :o
Yes. I'm sure they'd probably give me a good price and throw in a couple boxes of Viagra to boot but navigating the sidewalks with an umbrella just makes the obstacle course even more challenging. You can either spend time dodging cables, squeezing between poles and ducking underneath awnings from street stalls or just walk in the street taking your chances with the trikes in an effort to stay dry using an umbrella. I prefer to brave the elements and preserve my agility and mobility to escape the vendors and beggars.
