I had thought before that South America was like the European Union and that people traveled freely from one country to another, but I double checked my home work and discovered they simply do not need a visa to travel around South America and that Venezuelans actually have to leave Colombia after 90 days or get a 90 day extension for a total of no more than 180 days, so its not hard to imagine that these chicas are making money, cash, tax free money, and the ideal of returning to the economic hell that is Venezuela after 6 months is not anything they can stomach compared to the lifestyle they have in Cartagena. Even if their life in Cartagena is less than glamorous it is better to overstay their welcome and have some income. They say "it is better to serve in heaven than to rule in hell" so it must be better to serve in heaven than to rot in hell.

I have my eye on a couple of affordable houses that have private entrances, I just do not yet have vacation time approve in order to know when to make my reservation, and there is a chance that those will get reserved before I can get them, in which case I will definitely be staying again in El Laguito.

Here is an off the wall question though; Would it be a good ideal to as the chica up front to see her Cedula?

A more gentle way of approaching it may be to just tell her before you leave that the building you are staying in is strict with girl guests and with Venezuelans. Ask her again if she is there legally or is there going to be a problem when they ask for her identification.

As far as actually seeing it, I don't see the problem with asking to see it but I don't know if she doesn't want to show it to you is only because she is not here legally. She may have privacy concerns that go beyond her visa status.

If you know she is Venezuelan, ask her if she has a passport with a valid stamp and she what she says. Ask her to show it to you.

Tell her you have had problems in the past and want to see it before you go.

I have asked plenty of girls to see their ID and it is only the rare occasion they have an issue with it.

Most of all, you have to run your situation. You decide what you are comfortable with, what you want to see or do before you take her. She either does it or she gets left behind. You are the boss, act like it. If she has such a big issue with showing her ID, you may conclude she has an issue. There are many many girls looking to get picked for a night, would she rather throw away a customer and the money over showing an ID, 99% of the time I would have to say no she won't and she will show it.

Remember that these places asking for an ID and recording the information is a benefit to you and is for your protection as much as it is for the building. Always best to have a record of who she was in case of an issue arising later and it never hurts to have them validate she is of legal age before you do the deed. It is these reasons you should not try to bypass security.

She will also know when you sneak her in that she is there without anyone knowing who she is and that may be an incentive to act up or do something stupid that she would not normally do.

You never know, so why risk your vacation or fun time over a piece of pussy when there are so many others to pick from.

Long time reader first time poster to Cartagena. It will be my 3rd trip to Colombia and second to Cartagena. I have an Air BNB near the walls historical area and can bring guests to and throw as I please. I have 5 days in Cartagena and looking for suggestions from people on recent trips or up to date information.

I have numerous numbers from Photoprepagos and will of course use them. I know where the clock tower is and comfortable going to pick up there if anything looks decent. I know the place LDV but never went in as it was packed full of guys, but could pop my head in if needs be. I know where playa Hollywood is and was offered some young chicas from some young lads in the day but declined out of respect for the western girl I was with from the hostel.

I also have a number and address of Eden massage, if anyone has information on this place would be useful?

Any other suggestions appreciated including day trip to a nice beach?

All the women were just hanging out dancing / twerking, ready to be picked. Also, just making your way in that direction will give you tons of options from the street. They were all good looking. As for "the cops are not there to bother tourist", I was not worried about that. Although, I myself was stopped in a taxi with a chica I had just picked up near the clocktower and the cops had me get out of the taxi and they search me. They did not bother the chica. I assume they were looking to see if I was holding any drugs. Sometimes they bother the chica and not the tourist and sometimes they bother the tourist and not the chica. But I know from my three trips there that this also rare.
