Main reason: locals / expats might be at work during the week. Bar fines at most bars should be lower also. Weekends see a small jump of maybe $5. So, the same number of girls available but fewer customers. Gives you more choices and, if lucky, a better price point. If you are into clubbing, the opposite is true.

Looking over recent posts I conclude that there is little impact on nightlife in Phnom Penh. Is this a reasonable conclusion? I have never been to Cambodia and this seems like the place to start. I am very familiar and experienced with countless trips to Bangkok and Pattaya.

Yes, bars are busier on the weekend. But that's to be expected (didn't notice any big price change).

E-visa is easy and can be done 90 days prior to arrival, though it's recommend to be done no earlier than 1 month before your arrival. 30.00 USD. You'll need both airline and hotel reservations, that'll have to be uploaded to complete process.

E-arrival is also fast and easy, complete 7 days prior to arrival.

Have never been asked for proof of funds. Think this is a new Thailand thing, recently been hearing about Thailand turning travelers away due to insufficient proof of funds.

E-SIM, can recommend Saily. Price for a 7 day package under 6. 00 USD. Get it 30 days in advance (haven't tested it, but package only good for 30 days. So 30 days from PP departure date recommended).

On airport to downtown transportation. Have done the bus (paid with a 1 dollar bill, but cost is around 50 cents. No change of course), Grab (25-30.00), and hotel pick-up (30.00). Haven't tried a tuk-tuks, but expect cost to be around 15.00-20.00 USD.

If possible, for a 5 day visit have 20-30 USD in 1. 00 dollar bills a couple of 5. 00/10. 00/20. 00/50. 00 bills. Ensure all bills are new crisp and undamaged. ATM's dispense USD or Riel.

1. I have had bar girls decline because of their period. I always thought that was a little suspect. I'm kinky and enjoy jamming a girl on her period. Hey, we all have our kinks. I think the next time a girl gives me this excuse I will offer double and see what happens.

I just came back from two weeks in Brazil. I only once left the comfort of my airbnb. To meet ladies I went online. Point and click. The girl arrives on my doorstep. And the few times when I have visited brothels around the world, it's very hush hush. No sign on the door. Inside the manager makes sure that the customers don't see other.

However is PP entirely different? Everyone is ready to let the whole world see that he's meeting with a sex worker? Is it the culture or something? To me, especially if I am living in the city, it feels creepy.

And I believe the pay is quite good based on living expenses in PP.

They are more relaxed and less judgemental people.

That being said, I'd thread carefully and just not be seen with a lady that has hooker written in bold letters on her forehead. Being scene with a lady that's casually / neatly dressed and being even 40 years younger than you....... doubt that would raise any redflags or cause you any problems.

If you get out of the 136 130 area you will find there is a different level of Khmer girls. These girls are educated, well dressed and from good families. Since you're going to be there for a while as compared to the usual two weeks, you could learn Khmer and meet these higher echelon girls. Not sure if a 65-year old can pull these young girls. Are you fit or fat, handsome or hideous, fashionable or sloven, do you have game or are you a douchebag? Work on penetrating the high echelon market while tappin' the bar girls.
