Are the tensions with Thailand affecting nightlife?
Looking over recent posts I conclude that there is little impact on nightlife in Phnom Penh. Is this a reasonable conclusion? I have never been to Cambodia and this seems like the place to start. I am very familiar and experienced with countless trips to Bangkok and Pattaya.
Update on short time rooms near st. 136
Will be in Phnom Penh next week for a few days.
Hooking up with my regular lady, but will be hitting the bars at night with my wingman / travel companion. So, obviously can't take ladies back to my hotel room.
Would prefer something nice with at least a shower with hot water. And somewhat clean / sanitary.
What about a little privacy?
I am planning on relocating to Phnom Penh in two months to teach English. I have been reading up about the sex worker situation. One thing which confuses me a little: What about privacy?
It sounds like the way things work in PP is that you go to certain bars which specialize in sex workers, and these places are very clearly advertised from the outside, choose a woman, take her to your hotel room or apartment in a tuk tuk. All out and proud for the world to see.
I understand that if you are a single man and you are there for two weeks, you don't care. However what about people who live in PP? What about Cambodian men who may be married? Aren't there websites to choose women or at least very discreet brothels?
I just came back from two weeks in Brazil. I only once left the comfort of my airbnb. To meet ladies I went online. Point and click. The girl arrives on my doorstep. And the few times when I have visited brothels around the world, it's very hush hush. No sign on the door. Inside the manager makes sure that the customers don't see other.
However is PP entirely different? Everyone is ready to let the whole world see that he's meeting with a sex worker? Is it the culture or something? To me, especially if I am living in the city, it feels creepy.
