Yes, the article is depressing to mongers. The author definitely takes a stance. Regardless of whether mongers agree with him, he has 20 years law enforcement experience, so he has more credibility.
However, it is hard to believe that the gang's methods are as brutal as they once were. Romanians make up 70% of the WGs in the entire EU, and this has been the case for close to a decade. Therefore it is highly probable that the current wave of WGs all had at least one older friend or relative who worked as a WG in Western Europe.
