Sentri? Global Entry Questions Answered
A little confused.
So now the pedestrian SENTRI lane is used for people with passport cards? If you have a SENTRI card you bypass these people while holding your card up?
Please Advise.
Also let it be known that I've never been able to use the TSA Pre-Check line with my Global Entry Card. I've been told by airlines that I need to join the miles club or something similar. I have no idea what they were saying. To remedy this situation I now call ahead and ask for wheel chair assistance to take me through security. Part of the reason for getting a SENTRI card is so I wouldn't have to stress my lower back anymore than it is by removing shoes.
Either way I'm getting mine!
You go to the front of the line with Sentri always. Once you get Sentri take your Passport and have the CBP validate your passport as Senri holders are automatically eligible but need to have their Passport validated in the system. After getting this done when you make flight arrangements enter your GOES number and it will identify you in the system for TSA pre-screening. TSA prescreen has nothing to do with frequent flyer miles, etc. The best part of Global Entry is the pre-screening, when I flew back from the DR last month when I arrived in JFK there was a 30 minute wait to get thru security. Nobody in the Pre-screen lane, no shoes to remove, etc. It's the best feature as any time you fly domestic or international from the USA you won't be waiting in long security lines.
Not Every Airline Has Pre-Screen Yet
YES I've heard this but it hasn't been working for me in NYC airports. I believe different airports have different rules that apply to the GOES program. I've been a member for 1 year now and I haven't been able to jump one TSA security line. Customs is a different story. It has been wonderful in that regard.
I input my TSA Pre Check number which I do have.
I fly JetBlue in and out of New York in route to the DR. I entered my GOES number into my JetBlue account and now every time I get a boarding pass it has a Pre-Screen approval on it. The only thing I can think of is that your flying on airlines that aren't part off the program.
Something Fishy About This
I fly JetBlue as well but I have yet to be given TSA clearance with my Pre Check Number.
It's a bummer but JetBlue takes care of me so I don't complain.
By the way if there is anyone from Coastal North County SD please PM me. I am going apartment hunting when I come down and would like to ask you some questions.
Thanks
Something doesn't sound right! If you have Sentri then you will have a GOES account number. When you enter this into your profile with JetBlue it can automatically verify whether you qualifyy. There's no waiting for "approval' as you already have it with Sentri.
Suggest you talk with JetBlue about this.
