I happened to be in the country for other reasons. I spent some time in Sosua, but also in other cities. I had friends in and around Puerto Plata. The sex was a bonus, however it came.
I ended up getting a few regular hookups, including two that were sex workers at two of the more well known places at the time (I think they're both closed now). Never gave a cent, though I did buy some ingredients for one to cook dinner for us occasionally. I even stayed with a girl there for a few weeks. I returned several times and never had trouble finding action.
And as I said, I wasn't the only one. So if I'm an exception, I'm not alone.

But people here focus on young NY guy's in wife beater's as the problem? I've been at Boca Chica where a muscular dude with spiked hair and tatoo's walked around very aggressively. I even felt threatened enough to sacrifice my beloved beer bottle upside his head if needed, only to have him walk by and say "hey mate". When was the last time these young ballers made you feel you had to defend yourselves in Sosua?
Having said this, should I think it's racial? I've tried hard to stay out of racial topic's (check my history) but it's simple, some people don't feel comfortable around black's (even though we never harm anyone). Someone PMed me recently explaining this. Europeans aren't as used to dealing with black's that have money and freedom as Americans are.
