I hate to say it CS, but I think you were given the gringo price. The going rate in the houses around there is 400 Uruguayan pesos per hour. Even though the price is low in USD, we hobbyists should strive to pay the local price. Why? So that 1) the girls won't charge the same or higher for the next gringo that comes along and 2) so that the local hobbyists won't resent us for inflating their prices.

I went to a place on Yaguaran 1414. Nicole tried to give me a gringo rate of 750 per hour. I replied that surrounding houses were charging 400 and she immediately came down in price to 400, seeing that I knew the rates in that area.
CS, for half an hour the rate should be 200, or 8 USD. Incidentally, you miscalculated the 550 conversion to USD. 550 pesos is actually 22 USD, unless it was a typo.
In any case try bargaining down the rate to 400 per hour the next time; they will immediately agree to it.
