In USA maybe, but in Italy the average monthly income is in the 900 - 1300 USD (or EURO) area. And in the southern italy even the low end - 900 USD/month - is a good income.
But for romanian standards they are sky high!
In fact, romanians are flooding into italy, everyone dream to live and earn some bucks in my country ... excluding some *classy and inexpensive* bucharest girl, of course!

Those figures (400$/day) are true, genuine, hot and smelly b-u-l-l-s-h-i-t !
Doing this for 3 months in a row, a girl would be able to buy a squeaky new and furnished apartment in a residential area in Romania. Wow!

you are right about the cash wages...(after tax) I know in the US most people with the same jobs earn 25-35 % MORE. (i am working for an US firm right here in The Netherlands) BUT...they have less paid free holidays....less social security etc.etc.etc.
In Holland for a skilled factory worker in shifts € 1600,- (NETT) is a GOOD wages.....
Indeed if you see that housing costs are ridiculous HIGH in western-Europe (I pay € 500,- for a small house rent a month without gas,water or heathing!),I know that many Romanians make a FORTUNE selling/renting appartments/houses to forreign guys/firms.
Their are mostly 3 prices.....One cheap price for "normal " romanians...one for "Rich" Romanians...and one (mostly) Outrageous price for western forreigners (and Japanese and arabs)!!
I know back in 1997 an 3-room appartment in the Centre of Bucharest did US $ 40.000....! I wonder what the price is TODAY??
Mostly embassy dudes...staff...big forreign firm pay that kind of money. For most "normal" romanians this is Science fiction as they (average) earn not more then US $ 100-250 a month.
Offcourse in the CAPITAL Bucuresti wages are HIGHER....but life costs are also!
In a small town like sibiu (were I lived) a chef-doctor in a hospital makes US $ 300-400,- a month...the same guy in a PRIVATE clinique in Bucuresti could make US$ 1700,- a month easely!!!!;-)

So anyone telling me that a hooker asks 400,- $/hour is plain madness and insane. That is the same that a baker shop would ask me here € 25,- for a piece of bread...while I know there are many otehr bakeries were I could buy the same bread for € 1,50...!!;-) SO why would I pay 25 Euro???
But then again some despeserate (rich) men sometimes pay these ridiculous amounts of money......:-( What to think about the arab oil sjieks in Bahrein who pay 2000 US $ for a night with some Russian (mostly) ho??? Or the Japanese businessmen that pays off 3000 US $ in a geisha-bar in Tokio after having a "lusty" night which in fact only lasts 2-3 hours!;-) BUT please.....THESE guys are EXCEPTIONS,and NOT the rule.

I know VERY FEW real classy ho's in Bucuresti make 1000 US $ a day.....BUT from these 1000 smackers her "peste" (=pimp) will get 400 or even more...not to mention the cabbi who drives them arround and the hotel-guy who gives the "hint" to the pimp that he is having "lonely" western/arab men in his 4/5 star hotel....;-)

As a rule (with exeptions), these moldavian girls have a very different attitude towards sex and men. When they like it, they usually get very active and practically chase YOU for it. They also are extremely openminded. Their level of comitment in a relationsship is extremely high, and that can be a tad tiresome sometimes. Of course, with these predispositions, they make good *****s, too!!

I find Romanian women more good-looking on the average, but more refrained, less openminded and less wild. In other words, a bit more boring.

Moldova USED to be a part of Romania untill 1944. Now also Russians live there.
Moldovians speak Romanian AND Russian language (most of them..that is)
In 1995 there was ashort civil war with some seperatists Russians in the TYransdnjester region....But those problems are solved now. Allthough never say never on the Balkan....;-)

Romanian people are a LATIN people. Their language is LATIN language and has many similarities with Italian and old latin language. Offcourse through the years Hungarian,Turkish,German and Slavic influences came into the language. RO that work in Italy usualy get fluent in Italian after 3-6 months..! Try to learn a Russian anotehr language(any language) and it's HARD work...sometimes for years...:-( They just don't have that skill. (most of them) I even saw "english translators" in Kiev.....OOO boy..I think high school kid in Holland of 13 spoke better english then they did!

I also was in Ukraine (1999) and found very many stuning women.
BUT....as a whole most of them were BORING(!!) and very closed and absolutely not having a gsoh.
For me also the ro women were much more atractive....although I know also RW can be atractive. But they don't have that drop of latin blood....which most RO women have;-) And THAT is what make sit intresting for ME;-)

Iasi, it's a nice and very cultured town. Many students and also some interesting buildings like churches and monastys. The city seems to be much more wealthy like Brasow or Cluj. It makes a total diffent impression than the cities in Transylvania. The girls here a pretty, but have more slavic influence and are more snoppy. In Brasow is more latin influence. On Monday I was on a Disco called Rosu sin Necru (Red and Black) a really huge Disco and that makes me wonder full of people, thats on a Monday. The Disco is very stylish, good music, similar like Discos in Germany. Now the bad news in the Disco was mostly men only a few women and almost all was with their boyfriend there. I was not in the mood for that. In my Hotel Orizon was is a night club. A single room in this Hotel is about 25 $ and it's a clean room with shower, TV, good douple bed and breakfast. Good to try is a disco called Herestrau (the spelling might not be 100% correct), it is in a park not so far from an old city center. You will pay like 2$ for a taxi to get there (old Dacia). This is, in fact, not a real disco, but a place that has about 200 and more girls dancing, sitting.
