Err. No.
The Shanghai Hotel is in the err. Shanghai Hotel. The Jinmao tower is about 10km away by road.
It is an ugly redish building just behind the Hilton and Equitorial as posted numerous times.
Ask for Wulumuqi Lu / Yanan Lu or Wulumuai Lu / Huashan Lu in a taxi.
And the SH Sauna is on the 2nd floor, but they have an odd numberin system for China.
The circuit is going to be a good hour or so.

Hi Michi & WGS
Thanks for the input, but jeez guys how many Shanghai Hotels are there on Wulumughi St? well that's always assuming Wulumuqi Lu is the same place.
Look at the attached link and you will see the reason for my confusion! http://www.agoda.com/asia/china/shanghai/shanghai_hotel.html
Can anyone supply a link for The Shanghai Hotel i.e the 1 with the massage/sauna on the 2nd floor that features so favourably on this forum, or at least supply the number Wuluamughi street. I have RTFF but without success but having to read 4000 odd posts is asking a bit much!

Shanghai Hotel vs other saunas
There are several reports on Shanghai Hotel but check out #4199 and #4171.
I might also suggest there are other saunas that seem to rate better for service. The Shanghai Hotel is famous for red ropes and most people suggest it as a one time experience but most say it is a novelty they would probably not repeat. For my money I would try Sacrosa or World Plaza B2. Both can be searched on this thread.
Best of Hunts.

Pedro,
That link shows the Shanghai Hotel site of the famous sauna on second floor. I noticed there is a picture showing the showers and pools area of it.
Address is stated correctly there: Wulumuqi Road 505.
As you may know "Lu" is chinese for road, so there is no other street with same name.
Please refer to my old post http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/showpost.php?p=648853&postcount=2011 containing mapping on Google Earth with locations of various popular spots at that time including Shanghai Hotel.
Last gift is Chinese address for Shanghai Hotel so you won't get lost.
Enjoy
Arbi1972,
Thanks for your post and welcome to the board.
Your experience can happen with providers from any source, not just outcall service. At least you mitigated the damage by paying only 300 RMB. You were lucky. Many girls would have insisted on more money, refused to leave the room and threatened you will all kinds of bullshit. When this happens to me, I usually just give them the full amount to avoid any trouble and chalk it up to bad luck.
Your first instinct was correct. You should have just sent her on her way when she started asking for more money from the start. That was the telltale sign that what was soon to come would be a bad experience. Most of the time, when a girl thinks she is being paid less than she deserves (whether reality or pure perception), the service reflects this. The problem may be that some BSD gave her a ridiculous amount of money before and she is now looking to replicate that deal. That said, I can understand that your little head took over.
The best part of this forum is that it gives us the opportunity to share the good and the bad, so we can avoid falling into the same trap. Although that may be no consolation for your bad experience, it helps the rests of us. Thanks.
Just my POV.
OAH
I concur with OAH.
If they start asking for more money than what was quoted by an outcall service, BBS or KTV mommy, etc, then that should be your red flag right there.
Girls who insist on more money, more often than not provide the worst service.
I have found the best thing to do is get rid of the girl asap. Despite the trouble and all, you are usually better off without such a girl. They are also more prone to stealing from you.
Girls like this are just not worth the trouble and risk.

Thanks for the link Albert. Much appreciated! I know SH very well, but your google places link just makes it easier to get a bird's eye view snapshot of the best 'points of interest'.
One question....are you Italian by any chance?

Here you are with the hotel website http://www.jinjianghotels.com/portal/en/findStep.asp?sType=City&areaid=021&address=&zip=&airport=&scene=&range=&brand=-1&roomTID=1&roomsCount=1&startdate=2009-1-19&enddate=2009-1-20&price=+BasePrice+%2A+param1++%3E%3D0&ssql=&language=2&page=11&adults=1&childs=0&did=242
Any info on this place? Tried to search the forum but no luck. Right around the corner from my hotel. Feel like I have to go just because of the name, LOL.
Thanks to EVERYONE that PM'd me, that posted things here, and that generally took the time to answer my questions. I am in town now. Went for a walk tonight, saw Happy Garden Sauuna, saw a BBS across the street, saw Malones, and was approached by 3 WGs 50 feet from the Ritz. One of my business partners went into Malones at 3am (jet lag) and said 3 girls came up to him. He is newly married and not into playing.
Told my local contact that I want to go to a Sauna, and said I was thinking about SH. He said only tourists go there, I will take you someplace local and better on the last night I am in town. So....we will see what happens. And just like what was posted by someone else here, he too said the Red Rope trick is interesting, but that most people only go there once. His opinion anyway. He also said he had numbers of a local massage girl, but i think he was offering a legit person as he talked about it openly with our entire group of men and women
I might try Happy Garden tomorrow night. Again, I cant help thinking it is Karma with the name. I did the BBS in Bejing a couple of years ago. It was ok, and I can say I did it. Think I would rather do the Spa treatment for my old bones. I'm pissed I left my Viagra at home. I ususally keep some in my travel kit, and I took it out a few weeks ago. Totally forgot. Oh well....wish me luck
Oh and a HUGE thank you about the proxy server issue. I never would have been able to get on tonight without knowing that

Have now booked Shanghai Hotel but will research Sarcosa & World Plaza B2 for variety!
Hotel address in Chinese great.
Thanks,
Pedro 917
Interested to check out some local sn which offer cheaper rates and pretty good services in the afternoon (880 for 3p of 2 chicks/450 for 90 min, etc). I know the addresses and know pretty decent Chinese. Give me a message at [blue][/blue] if interested.
Cheers

'da ma' actually is the expression for 'carnabis'.
Went looking for 'wei ge' near Honkou district north of the Bund. Am a newbie to Shanghai so am not too sure exactly how to describe where at.
Found myself at a 24 hour pharmacy after asking a cabbie for a lift and a recommendation. Turns out they didn't even carry it! And this was only at 1030pm at a major pharmacy chain! [The one with the green sign]
Some papasan was conveniently around there and asked if I'd prefer 'da ma' instead, which he claimed mongerers use as a substitute [anyone to confirm? ]. Said I could get it a bit from a friend for 300rmb. Followed him to a KTV where automatic sitting down means the waiter will bring you a beer each, that's 40rmb a pop. Add on the room fee and a fruit plate which was 'gifted' with the room came to 2250rmb.
Papasan tried to takeoff a bunch of different times but I followed him to the hallway or whatever. Papasan left to find the bathroom, left to find the waiter, left to find the boss who'd sell us weed. Each time he was annoyed that I was onto the game. When the boss finally came he pulled me into another room asking how much 'da ma' I wanted.
When we went back to original room, papasan had taken off and stuck me with the bill for 2250rmb.
The KTV boss was an alright guy, explained a bit that I was tricked and just wanted his money, so I fronted it to him. Was too stressed out to even go for the 'da ma'.
It's a learning experience, I guess. Even though I RTFF, wasn't able to internalize all your guys' warning messages until now. I think mongering alone is really difficult and can be dangerous, especially for the newbs out there. If it were not for my 75% fluent Mandarin, I feel like I'd be sitting in a holding cell or a pitboss' basement by now.
Flying to Beijing in 14 hours, won't be as foolish out there!

I have had a few visits to Peacock Massage and have found the service very good. I prefer large breasts so I asked for such last time and was given #21. All in all, a nice session, although I would not say she had large tits (no complaints though). Does anyone else have any recommendations for large-breasted girls at Peacock or other massage places?
Levitian,
Do you mean "cannabis" ?
Please, in addition be so kind to tell me what "wei ge" means.
Thanks in advance
Shen Yu Ping (aka, 999) ... Puxi side of the river (same side as Shanghai Hotel Sauna).
Print out the PDF and show it to your taxi driver. Maybe a 20 min ride from the Bund (puxi side) at night if there is no traffic. When you get out of the taxi, look for the building with the very BIG "999" above the entrance. Walk in, have fun :-)
http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/showpost.php?p=780349&postcount=3840
When your done, pay, walk out and there will be a taxi waiting. Give the driver the card to your hotel and enjoy the ride back to the hotel.
E
Hit this place. Large selection of girls when I got there at 1PM, but not any that were hotties. In fact a few were a bit homely. I narrowed down to about 3 cute girls. 899 caught my eye. She is quite tall compared to most of the other girls, but I like that. She also had some intense eyes that gave me some good vibes.
Overall routine was typical for a soapy sauna experience. The elevated sofa for the soapy seemed a little arkward for her and she kept worrying about falling off. I would have been happy if we just went to the bed and went straight to the action. Good sex. Maybe not energizer bunny type of energy level but she was quite friendly. I happened to be able to communicate with her because she can speak some Cantonese which is what I speak. So I probably connected with her more than most other girls. The porn on the TV was an interesting touch, but I never really liked Asian porn. So I can't say it got me excited. Clean room and nice setup for the price.
Overall good experience, nice girl, and I would repeat.
