Here's the stats on my latest trip:
Average total spending per day: B1200 including everything.
Hotels 120-400, the B150 Sakon in Korat is still the best deal around.
Hot meals: B15 for Laap Neua in Pilok and B60 for Yam Wun Sen in Si Saket were cheapest and dearest.
Girls: 150-1000, B1000 was for LT. Average B340. Pilok consistantly B200, Korat now mostly B300. I did not partake in Nong Khai, where I did get the occasional B200-300 offer, and Chiang Rai, where massage girls on the main guesthouse road wanted B800 for a hand job. Who the fuck do they think they're kidding? Lousiest fuck was in Korat, proudly presented by a Chiang Mai ho. She spoke English as if she bonked foreign teachers in CM. Best in Korat, Si Saket, Buriram, Pilok and Pattaya. In fact, the CM ho was the only one who under performed.

Thai brothels in Nong Khai, Udon Thani
Maybe some of this info is repeated, but at least it's a bit more current, as scenes change.
In general, the best time to go to Thai brothels is early evening (7 pm).- the girls didn't go through their 5 Thai dicks just yet so are still fresh. There are girls earlier on in the day (I went at noon and 4 pm), but not as many girls, most of them sleeping. NOT the same as in ChiangMai where prime time is 11 am (morning! ).
Of course, to go to a Thai brothel, you should speak some basic Thai.- or be really, really adventurous
*Nong Khai*
Somewhat lively scene for a town this size, but it's mostly Thai oriented. Many girls in NK are mostly not of Isaan stock, but something that may be Lao/Chinese/Vietnamese. Much whiter complexion, larger noses, nicer feet and overall better looking IMO.
Most of the SWs in town are Lao.- they get here on 3-day visas. The business is heavily controlled by pimps, but girls seem free to move around town (e. G. Go to your hotel), which is not the case with Lao girls in Udon.
Brothel scene changes, but here are a few I found. It's good to ask a TukTuk driver to take you there, since they're not readily noticed and the staff doesn't call out to you. Still, helps to know where they are and what the deal is.
* Behind the Grand Hotel on the main highway.- on the left of the hotel, there's a soi, and then turning right from there (right behind a hotel). The place has 5 or so Lao girls (# visible when lineup is called, might be more). The lazy fat pimp takes 700, of which the girl gets 250.- I tried to get them lower, but couldn't. The girl was an absolute stunner. 20 y. O. Lao with a cute Chinese face and a perfect body.- she went to my hotel and was fun in bed too. I know it sounds mad, but I'the have easily paid 2000 for the girl of her caliber.
* On soi Sukpracha (go north from Prajak road, then into a parking lot on your right), there are two lit doors, with Lao girls in the evening. It was 700 off premises, I think 500 on premises.- they even had a sign in Thai to that effect, and I overheard a group of Thai punters saying "jet loi" outside. Seems expensive for upcountry, but that's it. Didn't partake.- the girls seemed not too friendly and not happy to be there.
* On Meechai road and sois going towards Prajak road, there are a few small Thai brothels (4-5 or so). This is the area a bit east of the bus station (2-3 sois down). Hard to see from Prajak.- better walk on Meechai. The girls here will call out, so not hard to find. 300 baht per shot (they tried negotiating, but I didn't budge), pretty horrible experience.- no shower in their ST room, walls don't go all the way up to ceiling, no BJ, girl insists on turning off the light and starfishes. She gets 150 ($4! ), what a great place She wanted to get my phone # and go with me after hours. At $5 ought to be a bargain.- she was cute, but service was so crappy I didn't feel like it.
* Hotel at soi Bumrungrit near the river (between Rimkhong and Meechai). Easy to find as it has a sign hanging at 45 degree angle. About 5-6 Lao girls there, some looking OK, most rather old (25+). Negotiated hard and got a 500 baht deal for a girl in my room, including BBBJ. She had an ok personality, but the service was crappy.- I assume she's used to lying on her back and having poochai Thai pound her for a while, and with Farang her 250 baht are way more work.
There are a few Farang bars (total of less than 10 bargirls) near the river.- didn't try them.- Pattaya is better for that, but it'the be interesting to see what prices they ask.
* Udon Thani *
Brothels with Lao girls on Adynyadet Soi 2 are somewhat open for business. Their number varies, a few weeks back I found only 1-2 open, but in late August there were 7-8. This is a 10 minute, well-lit walk from Robinson/Mall and the main Farang area.
The brothels are all behind heavy bolted doors, and Thai pimps need to usher you inside. You can still look around and get out, though obviously they're not too happy about the circulation.
The padlocks feel fishy, but I assume what it does is prevent a police squad from just bursting into the brothel.- one undercover officer could enter, but they could not make a raid before the girls went away. Lao girls here are illegal immigrants.- in Nongkhai they get 3-day passes, but not in Udon. They don't move around town much, but I think they're not slaves.- I talked to a girl that was due to go home the next day, and quite happy about it.
Quoted price is 500 baht (for Thais too), but on all 3 occasions I did get down to 400, but not lower (tried for 300, to the point of leaving). The girl gets 200 of it.
Two of the tree girls provided very good service.- nice friendly attitude, BBBJ and a fairly leisurely fuck in many positions as requested.
