Dubai - Hotel Information

I'm new to this forum, and I've actually slapped myself for not finding this place before:.)

Got to say you guys are doing a great job, keep it up. Hope I can contribute.

I've had a read through the forums and have noticed that no one has mentioned anything about Rimal Rotana.

Ok here we go:

I stayed here in jan 2007, unfortunatly its a complete dry hotel. There are no nightclubs, bars etc etc! What a shame as the hotel is really nice.

In regards to GF. I am not too sure. This is what happen to me: Walked in to the lobby with CIS WG at around 1-2 am. Its a 7 storey quite hotel so lobby is usually empty at all hours. There were approx 4 hotel staff in the lobby and yes all heads turned as soon as we walked in. They could not take thier eyes off us, really really emarassing. Managed to walk through the lobby to the elevators without any questions being asked. I would like to stress that the " walk of shame" lasted a shocking 3 days, yes 3 DAYS. Whenever I would be going in and out of the hotel they would look at me in a awkward way and make me feel uncomfortable. Before the day on which I decided to have a bit of fun, I got on really well with all the staff. Well after I didn't, they didn't talk to me properly and had pulled faces.

So to sum it up:

No surcharge, no I. D, no questions asked BUT the staff make you feel like youve commited the biggest sin. I personally thought its not GF and they just let me off with it.

I'll leave it for you guys to make up you mind.

Oh yea the hotel is located in deira on al muraqqabat street. Its a 5 min walk from Coral Deira towards your left.

I stayed there last week. No problem in the day. I ordered tgirls straight out of the local news paper to rooms, but when returning late from the York Hotel Club (great club) with a little Russian minx, we were stoped and had lots of problems with reception. This happened every night, although after the arguments they let us through. We had paid for double rooms for double occupancy.

I have a 3 nights stopover in Dubai (in June 07) and looking to book at Four Points Sheraton hotel in Bur Dubai, mainly because it has good reports and GF (please keep reporting as things seem to change on daily basis in UAE. I definitely will when I get back) AND of course very good location (please let me know if there are cheaper, suitable GF hotels in Bur Dubai area. Not Deira).

I am not sure but if it is GF does that mean I still need to book for double occupancy or single occupancy is OK for 4 points (four points has different prices. Buit all doublw/twin rooms anyway)?

On 4 points website (via [url]www.starwood.com[/url]) there is a

1- 325 AED Single and 365 double rate + 20% taxes (but with family package note attached to this price! ? )

2- 400 AED Single and 450 double rate + 20% taxes (no conditions, normal)

Now I called the hotel and enquire if I could book the family option and they said we don't have that offer directly at the hotel (only via website), but I can do it via website if I'm coming with my wife! In fact she said are you married a couple of times, if that's so it's OK. I wasn't quite sure what to say. Married! ? I am actually going to turn up single let alone with wife! ? (perhaps I get lucky with the wife late at night. ! LOL)

So I wonder if anyone here is familiar with this offer/situation and if I should book single or double? ! Any help appreciated. (I'm not on business credit card, so every penny counts).

When entering the hotel with the luck lady, she is your partner. They may charge for her overnight visit, but you can argue the toss or just pay. But at least you were upfront about it.

WR and I and others were planning a GB of miss N there. He would be showing up as a couple. I do not think they were going to ask any questions!

Stayed at Broadway hotel today. Paid Dh550 for one night.

Totally GF. Coffee-shop has good collection of girls that changes quite fast during the day. I was there for only two hours and many girls came and went.

Very friendly girls - I have found some of the other very popular venues quite pushy of late.

Paid Dh400 for ST but worth every Dh.

and thanks to the forum, I have compiled a list of bars to raid, but since my stay is short, some direct help from any of you would be highly appreciated. if you have specific recommendations (preferably CIS, PRC), someone with a good attitude, then please do PM me?

Last has any one tried the services of some people advertising on expats, or the classified section, is so, what are your recommendations, are they any good?

Tried Broadway a few days ago at 9am.

Found a lovely Armenian girl for Dh300 for 1 hour (extended for no extra to two).

Girls advised hotel can be booked by the hour. Was shocked. Went to reception and found:

1. one hour Dh300
2. 2 hrs Dh350
3. 1 day 550 (negotiated down to Dh500).

One final tip Broadway Hotel.

The coffee shop has free entry until approx 6pm - after that they charge Dh50 (includes free drink), even to guests staying at the hotel.

So get in early! Enjoy

Just to confirm again, It is girl friendly.
The security guard will very politely ask for your room number and keep her passport copy.
I think I may have given the guy the wrong room number by mistake. He has no way of knowing. Since I had booked a couble anyway, so there was no issue of a room surcharge, whcih they have been known to charge.

Funny scene one night. There was lne of 4 mongers, each wiht a girl on the side waiting to hand over the passport copy!
I may have seen someone take up 2 gilrs, but can't confirm.
When the Prmiere closes (located wihtin the same building, adjacent to the Ice Rink), 2 or 3 security guards block off the girls leaving the Premiere from going to the hotel side (unless they are wiht a client).
Pretty much everybody sitting in the lobby after 11 PM knows what is up, and the actual reception is a some distance from the entry to the elevators so the walk of shame is not that bad.

One to keep an eye open for in 2008 - Budget hotel in Deira.

Remains to be seen whether this easyHotel will be GF.
