Hello Mongers,
I wanted to begin this post by thanking everyone who posts on here. I spent a couple of weeks reading through all the posts and acronyms to get a feel for what I should expect. I don't think I did too well on my first trip but I feel satisfied nonetheless and would welcome any tips from the more experienced people.
Arrived at the border at around 9pm (by myself, don't think that was too great of an idea) parked behind "Jack in the Box" and crossed over. Caught a cab to AB. It seemed emptier than I would've expected but I guess since it was a Monday it is normal. Spoke to a girl named Carla (about 5'9", very skinny, C cups, brown hair with highlights), she said she was from Guadalajara. Bought her a drink then went upstairs (if anyone is willing to teach me the finer points of negotiating I would be grateful). Started off nicely then after 20 minutes she said that was it and requested a $20 for tip to finish. I paid it since I wanted to go home afterwards and would've cost more to get another girl. Finished up and left. For the first experience I wouldn't rate it as bad but it felt rushed and overall not too great of an experience. Total damage for the trip $7. 50 + $60 + $12 + $1 + $20 = $100. 50
I would like to make another trip this week but feel uncomfortable going by myself, if anyone wouldn't mind me tagging along please let me know.
$20 bucks more to finish!? Lol, you where had. I suggest next time you try a bar girl.

Yeah, you were had. This thread is full of stories of rip-offs from the AB chicas. They're not alone, but the whole clock-watching, hurry up and get back downstairs, clip-joint vibe seems to be a lot worse at AB. IMHO, not the best place for noobs to start.
First, you will be miles ahead if you learn some basic Spanish. It's amazing how much mileage you can get from being able to converse, even a bit, in the local lingo. TJ, Bangkok, Amsterdam, it's all the same.
Second, don't be afraid to buy a drink or two. This can tell you a lot. If she's not interested in sitting and drinking, blow her off. If she orders the thimbleful of orange soda, and gulps it, red flag. She should sit and chat and take at least 15 - 20 minutes per drink (my general rule of thumb). Talk to them about their family, kids, etc. They love that. Get a little touchy-feely. A little boob play, good natured groping, etc., will give you an indication of how much fun, or not, she'll be.
Third, always negotiate a bit. Never accept the first offer. This is Mexico, they bargain for everything. If they ask $60, don't be afraid to counter with $40 and come up to $50. Plead poverty, they certainly understand that. NEVER cough up more than $60. Ever. Period. If they demand more, smile and tell them adios. TJ has waaaay to many PLMs who will pay anything, with the excuse that the girls is just too hot. Bullshit. I've had hotties in AB just walk up to me and ask to go arriba for $50. Stick to your price point. And, if you want longer than 30 minutes, the rate goes DOWN. It does NOT go up or stay the same. If 30 minutes go for $60, an hour does NOT go for $120. $100 tops, and $80 is a lot close to reality.
Fourth, NEVER pay up front. Ever. If she demands money after the door closes, leave. Cut your losses. Tell the towel guy she changed the deal and he'll give you credit on the room. Lots of guys report having good service and still paying up front, but YOU are not those guys. You are a noob learning the ropes. You control the situation. It's your money.
Fifth, a session IS 30 MINUTES and includes pretty much whatever you want, not what she wants, within reason. Touching, light kissing (some won't DFK and it's more of a disease-prevention thing), DATY (very few will refuse, but it doesn't hurt to check downstairs), CBJ (some will do BBBJ but I respect their decision in this matter), CFS multiple positions until completion (IMO, you are an idiot to bareback a TJ bar girl). NEVER let them upsell. If they want to haggle over every little thing, they can work the alley. She can put on makeup, etc., on her own time, or when you're finished, whichever comes first.
Sixth, the gorgeous ones are often mediocre to bad arriba. They have a line of panting gringos following them around, why bother with good service?
Seventh, you might try a lower-key place, like CC, to get your feet wet. The chicas are a lot less shark-like.
Eighth, at night take a taxi in and out. I always have them drop me at the Hotel Nelson and I walk to the Zona. This avoids the stupid "CC is closed, I take you to Purple Rain" nonsense. If you must take a cab directly to the venue, don't take no for an answer. Catch a return cab southbound on Ninos Heroes, not eastbound on Coahuila. The EB ones go directly through the policia-infested area up Maduro.
Ninth, don't sweat going alone. Just leave the drugs and weapons at home. BYO party hats.
Tenth, have fun!!!

Ne123,
You can't receive PMs. If you can send one and are interested in getting together with my friend and me when we go down on Thursday (we'll be in the zona from about 8:30pm for a couple of hours), send one to me. We go down once a week most every week.

Of course, I finally just mailed Jackson my subscription, so my pm isn't active quite yet.

Great report. Every newbie Gringo should read this before heading to TJ or MX for that matter. Other than basic respect for the Mexican National and their rules and culture, the most important aspect is learning basic Spanish. Like most Gringos, I briefly studied the topic in college some 20 years ago. I am pretty much average when it comes to foreign languages and it took me no more than 30 hours of revisiting my college textbook before I was comfortable again. Just learn as many common words, verbs and their proper pronunciations as you can. Do not worry about the different verb tenses other than the past and present. I now speak passable Spanish and have had two non-pro GF's that spoke absolutely no English.
When it comes to mongering with Latinas, this is without a doubt the best investment you can make to increase your chances of GFE.

Paying First.
Guys, don't be lame. These girls have been ripped off so many times that sometimes they will demand to get paid first. If the girl doesn't demand the money first it's because she's a novice and doesn't know any better. I am fluent in Spanish and I have heard a million stories from these hard working girls about how they were ripped off. So don't be offended and don't worry, if the girl asks for the money first. These girls for the most part are just working girls that are doing it for the money and not because your good looking or you have a great personality but because they have a family to feed.

Sorry, I don't buy it. Been with lots of experienced chicas in the zona. Few of them demand payment up front. Sure, some have been ripped off but I think they're in the minority.
If you pay up front you have given away what little leverage you have in the transaction. When things go bad, and this thread is full of such stories, what are youi going to do? Punch out the girl and rifle her purse for the money? Not likely.
Giving in to demands of up-front money just convinces the girls that they can give worse service with no consequences. They figure that we'll put up with anything. You wouldn't pay up front for any other service, why with the chicas? FWIW, I really like the girls and would never dream of deliberately cheating one.
BTW, I'm wondering if anybody here HAS ripped off a girl. Or, if anybody knows what happens to somebody who does. I know in other countries the girls usually know some people who you really don't ever want to meet. I'm wondering what happens in TJ to some dumb f*ck who would try this.

That might be a worse fate than having the bar bouncers rough you up.

That was a good decision on Purple Rain's part, since they were ripping me off big time. Better to get my money before I wised up.

Prostitution is a city sanctioned business. Meaning they have the same rights as other businesses and are backed up by city laws. I asked one of the girls once, what would happen if a monger rips off a girl. It came up cause I was like three dollars short of her full fee. I was one of her regulars so she let it slide plus she even did me a favor and paid the tip to the clean up guy.
So what happens if you rip one of them off? Think about it, what happens if you rob a store, a restaurant or a person walking down the street? Exactly.
It's not worth getting butt rammed by some burly cellmate just to skip paying the chica whats owed to her.
As for not wanting to pay up front, that's up to you. Do what you want. Some of the regulars I go to, I never pay up front. Always at the end. But that's just because they know me and trust me. Other new girls I try out, I pay up front cause for them it's a requirement. I obviously let them know that I want to get my money's worth. And if they don't comply I just make it obvious that I no longer require their services by ignoring them the next time I come around. Trust me they get the hint. I know you must be thinking that I ended up wasting my money the first go with the chica. But that's fine. It's expected for this type of business. If you want a sure thing everytime, find yourself a regular chica and stick with her. But I don't really see the fun in choosing only one girl when there is so many available.

Looks like I'll be going down there tommorow with some friends. Might hit up las pulgas just to check it out haha I'll try to get some pics.
