Hey Llttf and Bold Focker
Miss hangin with you guys! Sorry, BF about all the ''crap'' on the AR board. Just some machismo!
I'm looking for comments on my concerns
Thanks everyone for you earlier comments. Ford I will use your reccomendations
for long term rentals.
Everyone, I'm going to Sousa this week and staying at a chica friendly hotel.
I'm going down to check things out. A friend and co-worker lives in Sousa.
He will be in West Africa were we work for this trip. So I'm on my own.
My concerns, I don't drink allot due to meds. But can be socialable and have
a couple. I'm really not going to try to pick up a girl every night. But, I'm sure
I may meet one who I can't say no to. In these regards I'm afraid I may put
folks off and seem stuck up to the culture there. What do you think? I don't want to ride the back of a cycle or use a taxi. This may [CodeWord140] some off.
These things will make me standout rather than blending in.
I may end up living there. I'm reading Espanol now. This forum is the best for
the real skinny on the streets of any country.
How far of a walk from Voramar to Sousa beach? How are the Casinos?
Thanks,
Cap!
Casa Linda is the spot for me!
How far is Casa Linda from DClassico? What is cost per night? What is the chica policy? How can I get in contact with them? How is the air conditioning?
I stayed at Casa LInda in november 2006, it's the best. Chica friendly no problems at all, 3 bedroom villa, kitchen, dinningroom, 2 bathrooms, and swimming pool with big backyard for about $1050 for the week, you have to get your own food and stock the house, with three or four people that should not be a problem at all. They also have armed guards at the front gate with shot guns.
One's Man's Solution, Another's Problem!
Cap,
Stand out? Once you get down to Sosua and walk around that place you'll soon realize how silly your concerns are. Don't worry, you won't have any problems.
Sosua and the neighboring town of Cabarete are tourist (primarilly European tourist) "hotbeds." You will be in the company of literally hundreds of neophytes "shuffling" along in their slide sandals, cargo shorts and crumpled tee-shirts. Many don't speak much Spanish, many don't speak any Spanish.
Yeah, Ford is right. And that's the problem. Full of short-term gringos on a quick beach and pop holiday, throwing money around, without much respect for where they are.
IMHO. Sadly,

New York Shark Bar raises prices
Lou at the Shark bar raised its price for a Presidente beer to 100 pesos. Where does he get off charging such as high price. What happened to his quote on his web site? " Intention is to bring American guys together so they can have a place to shoot the shit and listin to American music (That much he did). Then it went on to say his goal was "not to make a proit but to break even". Why is he hitting his own friends over the head with his prices? I will no longer spend my money there.
