After traveling through Xi’an and Shanghai (see posts for each I submitted today) I arrived in Hong Kong. I usually go to a place in TST, I think it’s called Circle K or something similar, somewhere near Woosung Street. But this time, having read so much about it, I decided to try 37 Dundas Street.

SE Asia Joe is correct. We have one of the finest police foreces in the world and in asia. The crime rate here per capita is one of the lowest in the world. I can recall very few murders in this city and it is usuallly a front page story for multiple days if a gun is involved. Then stories run forever about how could a gun be here

I asked the same question a couple of weeks ago. I was there for a week and did not see many. There were maybe 4/5 on the weekend and 9/10 on the weekdays at fenwick. They were not the same quality I experienced a year ago, but thats just my opinion. Hope this help

The number of Latinos is down considerably from a year ago. It used to be there were anywhere from 40-50 on a given night. I'd say now it is somewhere in the range of 15-20 on most nights and some nights there are only 3-5. I was told that Immigration has been shortening their visas, but at the same time, the drop in the HK dollar compared to other currencies mean that they can make more money in other countries.

My general advice would be not to bring a girl to your house house or apartment. It is one of my cardinal rules never to do so as so many of the girls in Wan Chai be they domestic helpers, semi-pros or pros are looking "mr right". It is also the only rule of mine I have never broken. With so many short time hotels around Wan Chai that only cost $130-240 for a couple hours there is no need to take a girl home. If that is too much cash Causewaybay's short time hotels are about $100. Pretty cheap insurance in my opinion.

I know too many incidents where someone has had to deal with a girl stopping by their place that they did not want there. Taking a pro to your place one time would likely be OK but if you starting taking her out more than once it could lead to trouble. Do not take any domestic helper you pick up to your home I can't stress that enough.

I have been here a number of years now and am glad that I have not deviated from this one rule. I have had a couple of cases of ladies that I thought were nice start to wig out when they lost their job or were desparate for money to pay their agent off. Likely 90% of the ladies would be fine to take back to your place but it is the remaining 10% that should put you off doing so.

At your apartment you would not have any trouble if you wanted to bring someone back. The security guard would just give you a knowing look.

Of course this is just my opinion I have a number of friends who take ladies home with them and most have generally avoided any major trouble.

No problems but I've definitely felt a little worried afterwards. I generally try to avoid it but sometimes the little head speaks louder than the big one. Have actually left them in the apartment to go to work a couple times (one of the girls I've taken back more than once), when I came home, she had vacuumed my floor and tidied up (didn't scrub the toilet though).

I actually think it's worse to give out your phone number, or you should at least use a second phone/number. You work during the day, they work at night. It's really annoying getting phone calls during the work day.
