You are a prime target especially if you are showing signs of being drunk.
Guy walking on the beach side of the beach road at around 10 at night right by Central Festival. Not drunk. Approached by a woman who put her left hand on his dick and right hand in his back pocket where she removed his wallet. Within seconds she'the sped off on the back of a waiting motor bike. This is right by the fucking police station the Christ's sake.
Guy picked up his girl on the beach at 2 in the morning. Took her back to his hotel. Woke up the next morning and his gold chain and his watch had gone.
Guy picked up his girl from the beach at 4 in the afternoon. Took her back to his hotel and woke up the following afternoon. He had been drugged. Girl took wallet, watch camera, notebook and gold chain.
This is just in the space of a few days in one area. There must be so much more of this type of behavior in many more areas of Pattaya. Yes I know there are some street wise-guys out there who survived Brazil easily enough and to them Pattaya is a pussy cat but, it's fucking dangerous. Don't believe me then take a walk to Soi 9 and speak with the ex-pat officers there. They will soon put you right. Yes it might be high season but for the locals it's rich pickings as more and more farangs, especially those who are drunk, get conned.
If you need a girl then pay the bar fine. In the long run it's a lot cheaper.

So, I will ad a bit. The two situations above show evidence of foolish, rookie mistakes. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER have exposed valuables to tempt working girls. I have an IPod and a music stand out- if those are stollen I will survive.Lock up all valuables in your safe. A safe is my number one requirement while mongering, and if it is a key safe, I hide the key in a very safe and out of the way place BEFORE I get back to the room with a working girl. Only keep enough money around to pay them and for daily expenses. The same goes walking around at night (even during the day). Have your main wallet in your safe, and keep a dummy wallet with cash for the day. A copy of your passport can be kept in this wallet, or in your pants.
Also, control your drink at all times while mongering- do not allow a women to touch your drink or have access to it. One can easily do this with grace, and if you find a women excessively interesting in what you are drinking, this is a warning sign. At the first sign of any redflags, give twenty bucks to her and ask her to leave (or if afer the session, pay and ask her to leave quickly).
If your going to get drunk, do so in the most controlled enviornment possible- I. E. Stay at a guest house and wind up there or at a bar very close by BEFORE you get fucked up. Or, if you travel with a wingman, don't both get totally shit faced at the same time.
Things can always happen, but reduce the liklyhood of problems by following good safety guidelines. In a very real sense, the more I follow safey rules the more relaxed I can be and really just "let go."

Once again remember to lock up your gold ornaments including watch, wallet, expensive phone or anything of value. Carry only local currency to the amount you think you need for the night. Keep a watch over your drinks (I know it is hard ).
I believe most of the victims are probably tourists who think they can trust these sweet looking ladies. Given the chance any working girl all over the world would rob you blind. Once when I was in Beijing I met a cool girl in the bar. She had her own car. Once inside the room I locked up my valuables in the safe deposit box in full view of the girl without her seeing the combination. I was staying at beijing International hotel. She did take offence and asked me about it. I told her it is my usual routine and it did not relect on her. Ofcourse given the opportunity she would have cleaned me up.
I had a gf in Thailand and I trusted her enough that she carried all my money and wallet whenever we went out. She was so thorough that she would doublecheck all bills and did not pay any tips because in Thailand nobody pays tips according to her. She is one of a million I suppose.

(If anyone has any good tips on bypassing LBs, I would be most grateful! Eventually as they were approaching I'd ask "LB?" and they to their credit did say yes, and I'd smile and shake my head, but still annoying that EVERY ONE had to come up to me.) Anyway, when I first got there I hadn't figured this out, so they would all run out of their respective beer bar and grab my hand and try to pull me into buying a drink. I was a bit tipsy in one event and she / he grabbed one of my hands with both of hers, pushed up against me, and the other hand headed around to the back side. Now I'm one of the lucky ones that alchohol never truly takes over, and I'm generally aware of my surroundings at all times, so my left hand went with hers and caught it before it tried my back pocket (Of course I carry everything in my front pockets for this very reason, or side pockets on cargo pants / shorts.
So in summary, I do not believe location matters, at where a con like this can go down. Beach Road, Soi 6, your room, if you leave the door open, the opportunity of getting ripped off awaits.
When I go out, I only take enough for me to drink on and pay the barfines (front pocket) , I then hide my a couple of pay moneys around the room in less conspicuous spots, IE under clothes, behind curtains, etc which I can use to pay so I never open my safe whilst the ladies are in the room.

That said, the beer-bar culture is more subdued and the sex industry less evident than in years gone by –- families can avoid the "entertainment" district of this city of 800, 000 people by staying in nearby Jomtien.
The beaches are lackluster by Thailand's impressive standards and the shoreline is packed with unremarkable hotels and restaurants. Throw into the mix the common sight of countless fat old gents promenading along the beaches with their "girlfriends" in tow and you have a recipe for an experience that can challenge to uplift.
Deck chairs and umbrella concessions dominate beach space in both Pattaya and Jomtien, so those wishing to enjoy the sun, sand and water for free are forced to cram into small areas of beach between. A frequent complaint from tourists that local government officials say they are trying to solve.
Local efforts to convert Pattaya into more of a family-friendly destination continue. The city's international marketing efforts have led to an influx in the number of visitors from non-traditional tourism markets.
With all the criticism it cops, Pattaya appears to be on the cusp of change again, but becoming a true family-friendly holiday spot is still some considerable time away and requires further aggressive action by local government and authorities.

He won't say anything but this has totally fucked his holiday and I don't think he will come back. At least he is paying bar fines now.
As you can imagine my circle of friends is very small so I just get to hear a few cases. There must be so many more farangs getting the same treatment.
Be careful out there and pay the bar fines. They are not that much and at least provide some kind of safety net.
Reached Bangkok last Sunday and took the Bell service bus to Pattaya. Good service and got dropped at my hotel. Tim Boutique.
The hotel was nice but looked expensive at 2200 baht per night. GF friendly and very friendly atmosphere.
I had done RTFF and hence had planned the important places to be visited.
X- Zone. Was good with some shows which had the customers involved in Fisting / Banana eating from the pussy etc. Good to watch.
Baccara na dSuper baby were also having some good girls but got a bit bored as all the girls wanted to have bar fined for ST for 2500 baht. Wasnt interested and as suggested in the Forum, picked up a FL from walking street for 2000 for LT.
Turned out to be total starfish and cut short to ST for 1300.
2nd day visited the famous PP massage for soapy. Pretty much mechanical stuff but had the minimum service level for 1800. The girl was hurrying as she was a bit experienced but the basic services of CBJ, Shower and then doggy were fine.
Then went to some more gogos and around 1am landed at one at soi 6. Just before the silver star gogo. Nice ambinece and the girls were having a Jacussi show.
Called the Show girl for LD and she was Awesome. Probably drunk a bit but was so good that it got embarrasing as she did everything possible at the bar and was pushing for ST.
Did the same at 1400 inclusinve of barfine and the room and was great. Her name was Fern and is strongly recommended.
Also visited Coral island. Parasaliing and under sea walk. All for 2000. Worth it for sure.
Overall great 2 days spent at Pattaya and hopefully would be back sometime in the next Few! Years.

Yesterday afternoon I passed on the motorbike near the covered market on South Pattaya Road, near Wat Chai Mongkon a sexy girl, maybe 3-4 ft. Tall, max. Imagine the possibilities! She wore a cool straw hat and looked hot. Because of the traffic I couldn't pull over, by the time I was able to make a U she was gone. Anybody know her or where she can be found?
