Hot Secretary, Free HOOKAH once in a while. Rooms are TINYYYY, like closets. NOISY as fuck, LOUD pool parties at all hours and some bros where naked in the pool with their chicas and walking around naked (talk about Mandingo) scary shit hahahaha LOL. You get just as much noise from the fucking motoconchos pasing by at all hours as you do from the pool party music. Never again there.

I have written to D'Piero (thanks, for the suggestion by the way) but have not heard back so far. I will check Seabreeze now. One obvious question: Terra Linda stands out in this group for price. Is there any fire underneath or is it only smoke. I noted others' comments on noise.

I stayed twice at the New Garden which had a frat party atmosphere.

Also stayed twice at D'Piero's. In late June there was construction at the hotel and behind it. Not very quiet.

Terra Linda is a very nice looking & quite motel. $60 is a good deal. I have gotten quotes of from $69 to-$89 a night.

I have no personal interest in encouraging people to visit Sosúa. Quite the opposite. I don't run a business there and I own no property there. There is still the same number of chicas needing or wanting to make money. Sure, the haitianas were thinned out for a bit, but have been coming back in numbers for some weeks, and the dominicanas haven't gone anywhere. They are just hungrier. And if the trend continued, the same would apply to bars and restaurants eventually. My close friends either live here or will regularly return. So, taking a selfish view, if the number of mongers visiting greatly declined, it would be to my personal advantage. But I would hate to discourage any newbie hesitating to come and stop them having the time of their life as is being reported by guys week after week. And they don't have to pay Passions or Blackbeards prices either.

Only a few made a counter offer I'm not a negotiator. I would simply respond with 'you have been standing / sitting here for over an hour and I'm the only one to show any interest. The competition will grow as it gets later. I offered a fair price'. In the end ALL accepted my original offer.

one pretty nice, newer, if quiet, place you left out is the el rancho, which is around the corner from seabreeze. i started out my last trip at seabreeze and was looking to move into something better. el rancho would have been my 2nd choice, but i got offered a good deal at terra linda since they had available rooms right at the time. i was also looking for something more laid back than the new garden.

Tempo[/QUOTE]You will not go wrong with Terra Linda. Awesome restaurant and food, the bartenders know how to mix drinks very well, nice rooms and quiet atmosphere. At 5pm they have (or did have)"happy hour" in where chicas could come lounge by the pool if they buy a drink. Don't bother with the King-sized rooms unless you don't mind lugging your shit up three flights of stairs.

Sometimes the "weekend crew" take over the sound system around the pool towards the end of the week, but I never minded it because the play pure Old Skool Hip Hop, but they usually shut it down around 8pm. No frat-type atmosphere and you can also have your food delivered to your room (menus are in everyroom and you can order by phone). Wi-Fi was sporadic last time I stayed, but may have improved since then.

There are any number of places, many of which are never discussed on this board. It all depends on what you are looking for. At a place like Terra Linda with a full service restaurant and bar, you might end up spending a lot of money on site, which is fine, especially if you want to entertain chicas, and all that. This, of course, is what makes Blackbeard's resort profitable. On the other hand, if you get a place with a kitchen and fix your own food, then that is another story altogether.

Other factors you might consider are the general ambience, type of pool if you like swimming, noiseness and traffic depending on whether you enjoy the sound of racing motorbikes at 3 a. M. Or the sound of music, your fellow hotel guests, proximity to places of ill repute or the beach, closeness to supermercado or liquor store, Wi Fi, Internet availability, and a few other factors. There is no need to book ahead at this time of year. I would take a look at a place first and suss out the general ambience before you plonks down your money.

So if I get a King for $89 (1 adult) , does it change to the (2 adults) price if I have a girl stay over?

Sosua Bay is one of best values, right on water, across from After One Disco, free breakfast. Not sure if the 55 a night cash rate is still going.

Stay away from El Rancho it sucks!

Girlfriendlyness aside, each of us looks for different attributes in a hotel: quite a few want a pool, most need wi-fi, some can't do without a Jacuzzi.

My own 2 requirement are:

- as close as possible to the prime location for nighttime action without being noisy.

- a private in-room safe.

I've only been to Sosua once before, and Casa Valeria (considering the cost) did it for me big time.

You never see it mentioned here, possibly because those mongers who stay there like to keep it under the radar.

With this said, I just made reservations for what will be my second trip to the north cost: Sosua, I'm coming!

The 2 Queen (2 adults) are actually two twin Queen-sized beds in one room, but damn, $99 dollars? I never remember it being that expensive!

The 1 Queen 1 adult should be perfect for most mongers. Just tell your wing man to get his own damn room, LOL. And no, they will not charge you for bringing guest (chicas) even if she spends the night. If you show up at the check-in counter upon arrival to Sosua with a chica (like if she was waiting for you at the airport) just be sure to let them know that she is not staying with you (not your girlfriend or wife) and you should be fine.

First time stayed there had ground floor near the stairs a double queen, room was awesome. 2nd time had room on 2nd floor room sucked, paint falling off walls, a / see worked but only on or off no temperature control, a king bed not even Sea Breeze quality. Check your room before you pay if possible.
