Right, the band signs off at 2am, I believe. Then it's the regulare fare from there till closing.

I'm sorry but "to be sure", to be certain, is a verb, where a "sure thing" is an adjectival usage.
I am sure - present tense
I was sure - past tense, and
I will be sure - future tense
O.K. Some dictionaries describe it as an adjective but it seems to me I am using it as a verb of how I feel, as it is not attached to a noun
Monthy checks for STD (girl pays), HIV every three months (bar pays). Some of the Mp's check for STD weekly (house pays), HIV monthly (girl pays).
That will vary from place to place, but it seems to be what I have been told from the folks I have been in contact with.
Can anyone verify this? I never heard of any kind of bars/gogos testing girls. I've heard the mp's do, however.

"sure" IS either an adjective or an adverb.
In "a sure thing", it is an attributive adjective and in "I am sure" it is a predicative adjective. In "he sure is happy" it's an adverb.

That's strange. Its quite common for "good" bars to have health checks because they can't afford the scandal. But the lowest class of bars may not have it just like some MPs may not have it as compulsory. Good quality Soapies always have health checks.

O.K. Thanks for the lesson. My grammar sucks, it seems.
Not sure of the reason for the STD question and not sure you want my opinion as everybody has one. So maybe you are married or worried about girlfriend etc or maybe yourself. The point I am about here is this is a choice. If you do this and you get a STD, it was your choice end of store, not the girls not the mp, not the go go place. See this as it is. These women are with men, they get infections in the normal course of being women. Look in the mirror you made the choice and move on. If you cannot live with this stay home with the wife, girlfriend safe no STD. Sorry if I offend anyone. This is no different the to ride a motorcycle, make a choice, you get on ride, you crash thats the risk not the motorcycle company etc. No offense live with the decision

Maybe so, but surely, "he sure is happy" is not even english. It is on par with "How are you doing? Good!"
The adverbial form of "sure" is "surely" and of "good", it is "well", as even Webster's will tell you.

Yes, good soapies have health checks. This is probably because the main clientele is Thai.
Which bar is considered a "good" bar? Again, I've never heard of mandatory testing of girls in the gogos. I've asked several girls about this and have never gotten a straight answer.
Any reports or useful links to traditional Thai massage places in lower Sukhumvit area?

Agreed but I did not want to complicate the matter further so I decided not to mention the fact that the adverb "sure" is, at best, colloquial.

I also find it amusing as to how many guys feel "safe" in the gogos because the girls have checks versus how the freelancers are considered dangerous. Yes, a health check is better than no health check. But say a gogo girl had a health check last night. And tonight she barebacks with an infected guy and gets infected herself. Even if she is getting a monthly checkup, it is likely that the infection may not show up until 3 months down the line. And how many guys does she do in that time? On the other hand, if you are worried about safety and cleanliness, I would say that the Thai massage places are a far better bet. I have never had a massage girl in a Thai place ever remotely consider bareback, even when we were both passionate and wild and tempted. They strike me as very conscious about this, as are the houses themselves. Whereas I couldn't tell you how many gogo girls are willing to bareback if they like a guy.

When they do have checks, I was getting a straight detailed answer. ;)
Hi guys
Been a long time reader and preparing for a trip to BKK with my gf. I want to gently introduce her to a 3some and thought a MP will be a good start. Can anyone tell me which soapies cater to couples?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanx
