I have been lurking and reading the forums for a long time now but never really went through with it.

So, finally I bought a ticket to Medellin for may!

With the risk of offending a large part of the guys in here, I wouldn't dream of setting my feet in Mansion / Castillo. I can't think of a more horrible experience, excluding those that involve physical assault, in Medellíand.

Re the Casa Blancas, I stayed there recently and had a great time. I've stayed at apartments too, and though apartments are luxurious, unless you go down with a group there is no one to hang with. Everytime I've stayed at the Casa Blanca (CB2 actually) , I've met really interesting people from all over. It's fun to talk with everyone over breakfast. If you don't hit it off with Greg you can stay with Boyd (and Robert). It's a very good option whether or not you speak Spanish.

I'll be in Medellin on this coming Wednesday, February 15th, and will be staying at an acceptable hotel outside Poblado; my novia doesn't know of my plans, and I don't intend telling her because I'll be back to spend 10 days with her beginning on March 1st.
