Noticed that the bars on Chang Yi Lu were closed around 19:30 this evening. The doors weren't open and nobody in front of the establishments. Is there a crackdown on adult establishments going on in Shanghai, or is Saturday just a slow night?

Sometimes you win some and some times you lose some. I've won quite a few but lost at this place.
Had my eye on it for awhile because cute girls inside and far away from the biz traveler drags of Pudong so figured wouldn't be that stupid upsell. There was.
The girl, #9, was cute but stupid. One doesn't expect genius in an MP, but there are standards for stupid even in an MP. RMB268 was the quoted price. Usually that high will include at least he.
Is there such thing as a no-hearted massage? Wasn't even half-hearted. Then the flip and then the upsell began. RMB600 for FS. No thanks. RMB400 for BJ. No thanks.
The whole thing sucked. Definitely suggest avoiding this place. Plenty better deals to be had out there.

You can get a prepaid Visa card without any registration:
Its called wirecard and can buy in Germany at any gasoline station. Maximum charge is 100 Euro and must be activated either via SMS.
Or internet. Then you can use like any other credit card e. G. For internet shopping. This is minimising your risk of Trojan spy on your credit card.

Guys, it seems to be seriously windy out there. At least in the gubei area. Although I get updates from Dongsen, I saw girls leaving there at 7:30 as I was walking to a MP that turned out to be closed for the past 4 days (along with all the others in the area). I did see a guy going into Dongsen on my way back, about an hour and a half later. But seeing girls leave that early can't be a good sign.
I also noticed that although minghui is open (I get updates), they are for sure trying to look closed. I drive past every day. Steven also mentioned this.

They have been raided without any forewarning and several girls and customers went to prison.
We still try to find out, if also foreigners have been catched "with trousers down", but till now no detailed report from our "LE-contact". But a raid without a pre announcement is very unusual for Shanghai, so we all should keep in mind, that nothing is 100% safe, even not here in Shanghai.
And for all of us who ever will get catched in a raid, do not act too arrogant (many guys think, because they are foreigners with a good job and income, they are in a good position)!
The police in Shanghai recently got much more used to foreigners and there is no "respect" you can expect just for be a foreigner any more.
And it's only a small step for them to ban your visa for years!
So better "act guilty", ask for the penalty charge (and pretend not to know and understand, that this is just a payoff to them), pay what ever they ask for and leave! I would recommend not to bargain, and avoid any civil disorder!
And don't think you are rich and get a advantage simply from that! This time has passed long time ago! Many of the Chinese guys around make in one week what you think is your great salary for a year!
The only reason why you have a good chance that they let you go is the combination of the extra income together with avoid lots of paperwork.
But no need to worry too much, in China there is nearly always a way out, but you should avoid to close that door by your improper behavior.

I actually went thru an incident around last week where LE came into the MP I was in. It was in baoshan area at around 4 pm.
Got to say, I was freaking out. The masseuse was notified thru someone yelling something in the hallway. I was in the middle of getting a BJ for christs sake. The masseuse popped right up and told me to quickly put my clothes on. She was trying to assure me that nothing bad will happen. As you can probably assume, I was not at all comforted by her words. I rapidly put my clothes on with her saliva still on my junk. It took all of literally under 10 seconds to put on all of what I wore. She told me to just lie back down head first and to just stay calm. I was still freaking out a bit on the inside because I didn't know what to expect and I never take my passport with me whenever I go out mongering. Apparently, from what she told me, LE won't do anything to you if you aren't caught in the act of any sexual service or if any evidence isn't found. So as long as you have your clothes on and there are no condoms in sight, you are safe.
So indeed, LE came in thru the hallway. My face was down so I could hear what was going on. I told the masseuse to pretend I didn't speak any Chinese. LE was going into all the rooms and looking around. One of them spoke to me and asked me to get up. I heard the masseuse tell him that I was american and didn't know any chinese. Then the LE spoke English. Wtf. He asked me to stand up and present my passport. I was like. Aw crap. I didn't respond. I then just thought of something insane. I snored a bit. I made sure not to snore in any exaggerating way to make it believable. I heard the LE talk to each other and one said to the other that I fell asleep. The other LE said to check the other rooms and so they left.
I'm not tryin to make this incident sound in any way comical. I was shitting bricks. But it worked so that's that. The raid lasted for about 20 minutes or so. They left without any incident. The masseuse then told me that everything was fine and we could continue. She said an extra hour will be added free of charge. I was no longer in any mood. I doubt if I was going to be able to get it up again. I showered and left. The dudes who worked there were laughing their asses off when they heard what I did. They apologized and didn't charge me for the session.
As for getting caught or what not, I do believe most can be paid off. But in Shanghai, there are some who do play by the book and act accordingly. If that's the case, I think the person can be fined and deported. I don't mind the fine. Its the deportation that worries me.
