You want the real bottom line? Here it is, those that travel to and stay in Sosua are more or less "prisoners" to the same clubs, pubs and *houses if they are looking for women. And the more people like you that run away from the problem, the more they take over the town. Which sadly, has already happened.

I can only relate my own positive experiences here. I'm not trying to sell Sosua to anybody, but I'm obviously not alone in looking foward to my next trip there.

Research this board, like I did, and you'll find a wealth of good info on how to get the most out of Sosua and the surrounding area.

Of course, if it's not for you, I'm sure you can find other options.

I've spent shitloads of nights partying in El Flow and I've only seen one fight, a big one but only one. Shit happens in there no doubt but it's not quite the wild west. The bouncers have baseball bats hidden up in the roll up door and aren't afraid to use 'them, they don't let people misbehave in there. I love it there so please UkTraveler stay the fuck out and leave all the fun for me.

I never knew it was named Susana's until Mr. Gogo gave directions. I've also eaten at PJ's a lot because they were open real late and never got sick but their food was AWFUL.

I am not really crazy about Dominican food as I get to eat it every day at home! How many ways can you fix plantains, chicken, beans, and rice?

The trouble with the Dominican restaurants is that the food is cheap enough, but it is just school cafeteria food cooked up in large batches without much attention to any kind of sublety in flavor or texture. As I am a pretty good cook myself I tend to think about how dishes in restaurants could be improved.

Actually I quite like the German restaurants of which there are plenty in Sosua with some good dishes on the menu. Had spicy meatballs and potato salad tonight. Anybody could make it, but it hit the spot.

I also like the excellent bread that is available from the German bakeries in Sosua, which you can find at the large Playero supermercado.

Sosua has quite a lot to offer other than chica bars, including a beach, diving, fishing expeditions, tours, a variety of accommodations, a wide selection of restaurants. You can find a different attractive woman to sleep with every night if you wish or get a girl for the week, or sample lots of different flavor of sex. Like many things, mongering can get boring very quickly if you overdo it. Like any place, to some extent Sosua is what you make it.

Casa Valeria has an excellent German cook, and like you say it digest's well. I was a cook in the Navy, so how food digest's say's alot to me. Dominican food is very bland and basic. I never understood people who say it's great. Their is an older Cuban guy in my neighbor hood, that I alway's have cook for me if I'm not feeling well. I don't know if it's the spice's or what, but I alway's feel better when I eat it.

Your"Girl for a week" quote. It's not as prevalent as before. Maybe because the girl's don't feel comfortable walking around during the day. Maybe it's the ex Brazil guy's who just want a quickie and not a date. Maybe the girl's feel they can make more money doing hourly rates. Maybe it's because guy's now don't care about learning the language or culture.

Before girl's would lock in for your whole trip regardless of how much you were paying initially, because they didn't want to share your deniro. Monger's and chica's walking around holding hand's. Guy's going to the airport lovesick and crying, going to Western union getting the Gold card. Meeting the family. Girl's trying to get you to go bareback to show their commitment. Sosua is buisiness and fast money now. Girl's from outter town's aren't getting dressed up to find a boyfriend at Classico's. Just pro chica's looking for a fast trick. Fake love was the norm before.

The only reason I raised it is because its the only Dominican food that I feel comfortable with on the strip so its a convenient way to eat comida criolla, which I love but admit its not the best at Susana's, and also a good way to meet random chicas eating there at lunch time, and also support a local Dominican business, which I like to do when I'm in Sosua.

There is another similar place by the colmado but I don't feel comfortable with that place, although I've heard from chicas that the food is cheaper. Food is something that I'm careful about in the DR cause one bad meal can ruin a trip, and I've had friends that have spent several days with "the runs" while on vacation, which is not fun.

This trick has worked well as I have repeated with these girls many times. The main factor is now that you have barebacked them you are not free (in their eyes) to take other girls. Funny in that your point on this matter is never really talked about on ISG. There are many warnings on (take cabs don't walk, Guard your drink, don't wear gold chains, etc.) , but this warning of the bareback trick is IMHO more important that most of the others.
