What's with my reports never showing up in the thread? I've had several, including one where I reviewed all the freelancer spots, not show up after going through.
Are they being moderated out for some reason or what?
You can open a Kasikorn account with nothing more then cash... They never asked for anything more then my Passport and how much I was going to deposit.
Well in truth they did ask for my address and I gave them one but they never checked it, they never checked for a visa or work permit or anything. They asked for my mobile number and that was it.....
TMB is more difficult to open an account at.
Thanks Tansak KTV and Jgm005, I will try to open up an account at Kasikorn when I get to Bangkok.
I will also post up a report on my experience after I return. I owe it to all you guys after all your help.

How comes every bar I go into the girls start hassling me repeatedly telling me to smile and act happier? Do they want you to walk around with a weird artificial smile plastered on your face at all times? Like the joker?
I started a new policy where if a girl tells me to smile I immediately drop her from the potential barfine pool.
Instead of telling me to smile, how about making me smile?

Thanks for your post. I found this in the link
for tourist visa holders - there needs to be demonstrated evidence that you're not just a regular tourist (i.e. living in Thailand, home owning, family commitments etc). They won't do this on a "new account" or itinerant tourist - some degree of length of stay is required.
But some of the people had no problem opening up an account with just passport and cash while others were turned away. I am going to try my luck in Mar.
If I am able to open up an account at Kasikorn Bank, do you know if their ATM will work with other banks or do I have to find a Kasikorn ATM. If so, can someone tell me if their ATM are easily found in Thailand? Thanks

Let me repeat... I never showed Kasikorn any documentation other then some foreign currency and my passport.
Location of their ATM's... you are going where? Their ATM's are about every 50 feet it seems like in Bangkok and Pattaya and other locations... they are in Isaan all over as well. K bank you can do internet banking and other things pretty easy as well.
Where are you going? PM me I know of a few locations that are easy to open up account with, when are you there as I will be around in Mar also... let me know and I'll see if I can assist if I am in town but really you walk in passport and cash and they open up for you. TMB as I said is much more difficult so don't attempt to open there.. not sure about the rest. I only have the two.

You definitely should go for Kasikorn, they're the most Farang-friendly bank in my opinion. I have an account at Siam Commercial too and it's a whole different story, higher commissions, bad service, stupid requirements, they wanted to see my work permit to open it but later when I wanted to get a new card suddenly the work permit was not considered official enough :) With Kasikorn I once got a new ATM card in a different city than where I live just by showing my European ID card (and being very nice of course).
You'll be able to use almost all ATMs across Thailand with a Kasikorn card and Kasikorn ATMs are everywhere anyway.
If you're going to spend a few days in Pattaya, just open your account in Pattaya, banks are much more leniant there than elsewhere.

Thanks, I will try to open up one in Kasikorn. I will PM you when I get to Bangkok. It would be great if we can hook up.

Thanks for your help. I will do it in Bangkok since I will spend a few days there first before going to Pattaya.
I was turned down by 5-6 banks in Bangkok when I tried to open an account. All of them asked for a work permit.
I then changed my strategy. The very next bank I tired (Bank of Bangkok. Who previously turned me down) welcomed me with open arms when I told them I was on an Education Visa. Didn't ask for squat other than $$$ and my passport.
I even got the phone number and a date with the hot teller who helped me open the account.
So. My advice is twofold: (1) say you're in Thailand on an Education Visa and (2) flirt with the bank chickie.
And I will hopefully be banging the shit out of that teller this weekend.

Myself and a friend didn't have any problems at Bangkok Bank in Rachatewi either, with a tourist visa and some baht. They needed a mailing address for the occasional bit of snail-mailed info (in Thai so not really needed) and a mobile phone number.
Not that I'm necessarily recommending that bank.
How long is ST for a girl from NEP? Mamasan will tell you two hours but girls wanna go back right after one bonk, usually 40 minutes for me including time for shower. One of them even told me that she does not do LT which I think was a lie. But at 600Bt bar fine and 2000Bt for the girl, LT is definitely better deal at 4000Bt.

Reading such reports reminds me why I don't barfine there anymore (although I've never paid such prices there). So you're looking at 2000 + 600 + 300 (loom) + 300 (2 drinks) = 3200 bahts for 40 minutes of starfish experience in some (should I say most?) cases.
4K for LT a better deal? A less obvious rip-off yeah... Dude, do yourself a favour and go to a soapy/oily! If you want LT, shop on the street or at freelancer joints.
Some girls, many girls really don't do LT. Not only in gogo bars.

But find some rapport, don't listen to that small head. You can find many of those girls in discos or on the street once they finish at the bar and just find one that you click with. I cannot list for you the number of girls I have taken home with no discussion about ST or LT who end up staying a long time. If they ask, I usually tell them that it is up to them not me. If they want to stay and they enjoy staying fine, if they just want to do the deed and go home, that is fine by me as well. Outside of extra tips because they are so damn sweet, I don't pay any different and make that clear to them. So it just weeds out all the wham bam thank you girls very very fast and keeps the gems.
