I went down today with $105 and 70 pesos. I left San Diego at 2pm by way of the trolley for $2.50. I arrived at the border about 2:45. I crossed over and walked up the hill to get a taxi. Those new machines are a hit and miss. Sometimes the agents call my name and other times I just walk up to them after thinking the machine was working. But either way, it is a big improvement crossing back for sure.

The banner was down by the time I arrived and the price was up to $60 on some nights and $70 on other nights. I took a look at one of the rooms and it seemed clean but tiny. I checked my cell for a WiFi signal but nothing strong registered. I don't have confidence that WiFi would have worked in that room, which is something that I absolutely need. Just about then a train went by, very noisy. I decided to stay elsewhere.
The location is great. Probably the same walk to the boarder as the UETA lot, which I prefer.

I've been coming to Zona Norte for several years and have spent several days there over the last week. Not much to say that hasn't already been said a thousand times, so I won't go into the boring details.
I think the street girls have gone downhill a bit over the last few years. Too many of them are the same ones at the same spots as my first trip years ago.
