I haven't had "terrible service" but I read some reviews where the girl seemed like she was just trying to get through the day like a DMV worker and was generally unpleasant. The hottest girl I had was definitely the most disinterested, but she put Korean girl bands to shame and when a girl looks that good you almost don't care. I also had amazing service, most recently with kanbi, and when you can get a good looking girl who offers great service, k-delis are hard to beat. Most if not all places accept foreigners of Asian heritage, and the places that accept non-asians definitely exist but aren't as numerous. Kanbi for example only accepts Asians. The Mama-san caught that my Japanese wasn't very smooth and made it very clear that the shop doesn't accept non-asian customers and that the girl will leave immediately if I was lying.

As a warning, the website photos should be taken with a grain of salt because they tend to be heavily photo shopped. The raw photo website is a better baseline, but there aren't many photos on it. With that said, I've had a girl that looked better than the photo shop photo (more natural looking I guess) , a couple that looked roughly the same just not quite as good, and one where you asked yourself "who the heck is this person?"
