I wanted to write about something that is happening in my life due to my involvement with a prostitute I met in Rio de Janeiro. I know what happened to me initially, also happens to a lot of other men who travel to Brazil. It is what happened after I learned that I had been rolled, that is stunning.

This website Jackson has created is full of posts of men’s bravado about sexual exploits from around the globe, but very few men write about their attempts to form relationships with some of the girls they meet, and the results when these ‘relationships’ go bad. What is happening to my life because of my naïve belief a relationship with a prostitute was possible; is beyond belief. I wanted to share this with ISG in the hope that I can make some of you men think twice before you attempt to form a relationship with a prostitute.

I met this girl in Rio de Janeiro in Help Disco and was taken back by her beauty. But she was also charming, intelligent, soft spoken, and extremely well mannered. It did not take long for me to fall for her. I thought she was the perfect woman. I considered the fact that she was working as a prostitute nothing more than a circumstance in her life because of the lack of economic opportunities in Brazil.

To make a long story short; I spent the next 18 months wining and dining this woman. She talked about marriage, children, the whole nine yards. I flew her to a few different countries I was working in, paid her bills including her mortgage on her apartment, helped her build a house for her mother, silicon implants, and the list goes on, right up to $40,000 USD. Over the course of the 18 months, there were times I suspected something was amiss, but each time I talked to her about my concerns she always had an answer which seemed to satisfy me. I also thought she needed more time to adjust to a normal life. What I didn’t realize was……when she was not with me in another country, she was still ‘working’ in Brazil. I had been rolled for 18 months and didn’t even realize it. I’m a smart guy; high IQ, well spoken, have a job in management, and reasonably successful in my career. I thought I was way smart enough to spot a con if I ever met one. I could not have been more wrong!

After 18 months, I was getting ready to fly to Rio to spend my birthday with her. She told me she could not be with me because she had to take her sister to the interior of Minas Gerais to a hospital, and there would be no cell coverage, only e-mail. I was really disappointed as I wanted to spend my b-day with her. She sent me a message telling me she would be in Rio in about 2 weeks. On my b-day, I decided to track her down in Brazil and travel to whatever city she was in. I checked the IP address of her e-mail to learn what Brazilian city she was in, only to learn she was really in Italy. I later learned she went there for a few weeks to check the place out. A few months later she traveled there to work as a prostitute on a one year contract; all this according to her mother.

I was absolutely stunned. Then it turned to absolute fury. No one had ever taken money from me like that before. I posted some information on the internet to warn others about this woman. I wrote that she is a prostitute, a thief and a pathological liar; all truths.

Now, this woman has filed charges against me in Brazil alleging slander. It’s a false charge, but it will cost me between $10,000 and $20,000 to defend myself against her accusations. I have more than enough proof to back up my statements against her, but it may cost me $20,000 to clear my name. Slander is a criminal offense in Brazil, carrying a sentence of 6 to 24 months and civil damages are possible as well. I find it incredibly arrogant that this prostitute rolled me for $40,000 USD and is now trying to cause more damage to my life because I tried to inform the public about her. I have serious doubts as to whether I would receive a fair trial in Brazil.

Guys, in general, I don’t think these working girls can possibly lead anything close to a normal life. Forming a relationship with a prostitute is next to impossible. After my experience with this girl, I firmly believe the vast majority of these girls are damaged physiologically to the point they have great difficulty leading normal lives. After I discovered the truth that she had only been using me for money, I talked to 3 or 4 other working girls in Rio, and ALL of them did not see anything wrong with what she did. To them, scamming men is a normal way to make a living.

I frequented prostitutes before, but this experience has made me give up that bad habit. I traveled to Brazil on average once every 4 months. I quit fooling around with prostitutes over a year ago, but continued to travel to Brazil as I really loved the country. I had planned to retire there, but with this legal development, I may never be able to travel there again. The Department of State has told me (off the record) that extradition is highly unlikely in this case, but I don’t find much comfort in that.

Guys, don’t think with the little head when you meet these girls. There are too many girls in Brazil who have you, and many other men as ‘boyfriends.’ When I told one PI in Brazil that I met her in Help Disco, he said “man, I get a lot of work out of that place”. It’s a quote I will never forget. It made me realize I was not alone in my foolish attempt to believe a relationship is possible with one of these girls. If she really cares about you, wait it out until you learn a great deal about her before you start spending large wads of cash. And with Brazilians, you’re not ‘in’ until you meet her family. I talked to this girl’s family, but never met them in person.

It is not worth the attempt to build a relationship with these working girls. If you must frequent prostitutes, use them and dump them. Do not get involved with them personally; it is not worth the risk. My Portuguese is pretty good and I talk to the girls all the time about what happened to me. All of them told me it is quite common for girls to have several boyfriends who send them money. Be careful with your money and your hearts guys. If money is a requirement to maintain the ‘relationship’, then more than likely you are still her client.

Don't try to make a general rule out of your personal experience. I'm sure it hurts. I'm sure she didn't treat you fair. And have all my sympathy but.

Saying that all women are just the same, is not very different from saying that all GDP are are just the same. They are not. They are different. Believe me. I also have had my experiences.

In the end love, money and sex are very complex issues. There are no rules.

This forum is filled with stories of guys getting taken by GDPs . Just curious, does anyone know the statutes of limitations in brazil?..Can u get arrested at immigration if some random gdp alleged slander or worse, battery?

By the same token, what if a GDP went to the police and claimed u hit her? Unbeknownst to u you, u try to reenter brazil, would u get arrested just on her word?

instead of wasting 20k, if the statutes of limitation is say three or four years..couldnt u just wait it out?. go visit colombia, argentina and other countries...then get back when the statutes of limitation runs out.

Thanks for your honesty in reporting your experience. I too made the mistake of getting into a relationship with a GDP a few years ago, a mistake I will never make again. I didn't spend nearly as much money as you did, but it came to several $K. I paid for silicone implants and took her out to the best places every time I came to Rio. The end result was astonishingly similar to yours. After a couple of months of not being able to locate her, she let me know she was in Italy working as a prostitute. I know a few other guys who contribute to this forum have had similar experiences; some have sent me PMs describing their experiences.

So, guys, if you haven't figured it out already, the cardinal rule is this: once a prostitute, always a prostitute. If you find a GDP who charms you, by all means have a good time with her and enjoy yourself while you can. But never, ever trust her, and never give her your heart,

BTW, you don't mention your nationality, but if you are American, Brazil does not have an extradition treaty with the US, so you don't need to worry about the criminal charges. Just don't go to Brazil. There are plenty of other places to monger that are just as good--well, almost. I don't know for sure, but I doubt that Brazil has extradition treaties with anyone. Brazil is famous, or notorious, for being a haven for people fleeing from the law, knowing they can't be touched by the law in their own country. Ronnie Biggs, the British train robber, lived in Brazil for decades. This is a two-edged sword for Brazil, because it means that they can't retrieve people from other countries either.

Bottom line: we all learn from our mistakes, which at times can be very costly. C'est la vie!

But you are doing the right thing by reminding others to not even allow that little seed a gdp can plant in your mind about the possibility of a serious/marriage type relationship.

Gdp's are human, but they are what they are, and do what they do ( make money ). Can't forget that. I thought this obvious to all, but I guess I was wrong.

I understand your bitterness, but cutting out gdp's from your life does not mean that you can not be taken again. For example, a person in your situation now hooks up with a non-gdp, then gets married......then divorced, and you are going to be out more than the $40,000-60,000. Gets screwed as well.

Look at Mel Gibson, he is worth over 900 million. He is getting divorced. Guess what? In California, spouse gets half of what you made from the point of marriage. He's out 450 million. I am sure he will survive with the other half of his cash :)

So you came out smelling like roses! You have your health, job, and your future. Just be thankful you did not have any kids with her.

Yes, D&D, it cost you 40G or so, but Mangera is right: your "divorce" came cheap by comparison. My divorces were not nearly as expensive as Mel Gibson's, but still vastly more costly than the 40 big ones that you pissed away on the girl from Help. And something tells me that you had way better sex, too, ...

This is not a Brasilian phenomenon, it could happen anywhere. I commend you on your choice of user names.

I think Lorenzo is just emphasising the necessary warning note of Dumb N Dumber's excellent post. But every time someone says this I have to disagree. It might not be one in a million. It might be one in ten million. But I personally know two ex-prostitutes who have been happily married now for several years. They have got an excellent deal and I don't see either of them returning to their old life. Neither of them now have the motivation, [u]opportunity[/u] or, as far as I can see, the inclination to get 'top-ups.'

What I think is harder is that if you once pay, you are forever likely to be regarded as a 'client'*, just as Lorenzo, like most normal people I guess, take the view that anyone that they have ever paid is basically a prostitute. Either way, it reinforces the role. It is very easy to define a person by their actions at a particular time.

As D&N said, if you must frequent prostitutes, use them and dump them. It's a bit like marriage (a high-end, less conscious type of P4P for many women if you like). Once you buy into the the game plan, you're stuck with it.

I hear these stories all the time about gringos getting fooled by GP's.

The story is always the same. It's like several phases:

1. The guy meets a girl in Help. She gives him a GFE. He falls in love. He spends a lot of money on the girl.
2. He returns back home. Shortly afterwards he invites her to visit him. He spends more money on the girl.
3. She returns to Brazil. He keeps sending her money every month so she can stop working as a GP. She assures him that she's home with her mother and will never again do tricks (of course that's just BS).
4. The girls need more money. She needs a laptop, go to the dentist, her mother needs medicine, the daughter needs to go to a private school, the dog needs a surgery etc. Money keeps rolling in.
5. Time for some bigger investments. She and her mother needs to build a new house. The girl also needs silicone implants. The guy sends a lot of money. The construction is delayed and costly. He sends more money.
6. The guy comes down to Brazil. He gets surprised when he understands that there isn't a newly constructed house. He forgets about the house when she gives him a GFE. The girl now got her milking cow in her back-yard. Time for shopping, clothes, new refrigirator, christmas presents etc. She makes sure to use him as much as possible.

So when does it stop? It depends on how dumb the guy are. It can go on forever.

I have two friends with many years of experience of Brazil who are going through this process right now. One of them has been spending outrageous money on his girl during the last five years.
He refuses to understand what everybody else understands. His girl feels no love at all for him, she's cheats on him, she despises him and is only using him. I've tried to speak sense to the guy, without any success. Even though he's my friend I can't really feel sorry for him. Somebody acting so dumb really deserves what's coming for him.

I have some close friends who works at Help and Barbarella. Beautiful and charming girls. They tell me openly about all the guys they fool. They have several BFs at the same time who keeps sending them money, expensive presents (even dogs), laptops, flatscreens, pays their rents, pays for maids and invites them to Europe/US/Australia.

I see when these girls chat with their BF's over the webcam. Assuring them that they are faithful, loves them and stopped working as GP. The girls are great actors.

I congratulate these girls for succeeding with their business. I can't feel sorry for the guys. They will survive. The girls needs their money better than they do. Not to mention that these girls can afford to give their friend Sperto a free session every now and then. :D

Man, after reading all these posts, I am seriously thinking of starting my own GDP Private Investigation business in Copa. If these guys are willing to send 3-6 thousand dollars a month to keep their lady off the programma, they should be happy to pay me $1,500, for one month of surveillance!

I mean to be honest; How hard could it be? I would just give the flower lady, the chiclette girls and the dozens of homeless kids my business card. And tell them "If you see this girl in Copa, call me immediately". If it is her, I will pay the person a 50R fee.

I would buy a nice video camera with night vision and a zoom lense, sit in a taxi out in front of Help and just wait for the girl to leave with her client. I betcha I could make more money in Copa doin PI work than I do now!!
