You are better off in Kelapa Gading - Sheraton Bandara is hopeless from a mongering perspective, the only thing you could do is go to the airport and look for girls hanging around the arrivals area or girls seeing off their "boyfriends" in departures. The latter will of course be loyal to their departing boyfriends - for about as long as takes for them to get to passport control.
You can find girls in Kelapa Gading mall if you are interested in mall hunting. There are not so many bules hunting there - but no so many girls either.

The best deals in terms of value for money appear to be the ibis hotels (there are about 4 of them), but my question is are any of them girl friendly, and which to go for

Cheers[/QUOTE]Ibis Slipi is girl-friendly. I have yet to stay at a Jakarta hotel / apartment that was not girl-friendly (in Manila I know of only one). Ibis are budget-minded hotels, $40/night. Decent (small) rooms, not a lot of amenities, no in-room safes. Anyone have trouble bringing girls in?
I have just moved permanently to Jakarta with kids and will live in a house in Kemang. I want to establish a "play ground", away from home, where I can have some serious "sport", in peace. The area around Block M seems a good option as it is a good hunting ground and as it is halfway betweeen my work and home. Two questions: 1) what is a good hotel option around Block M in the $50 range for ST or overnight? 2) Should I consider trying to up a small and well equipped apartment and maybe share this with a few likeminded guys...? I am into BDSM and good equiment needs a good nest. Maybe someone else have such an arrangement and I can join...? P.

The Melawi hotel is old need to be remodel soon, the better place is the Alhambar hotel across the st is about 64 USD much better hotel.

Melawaii Hotels have been pretty bad for awhile. I can't stay there anymore. Ambhara is nice and basically across the street from Passaraya Mall and JL Falatahan, but it's a bit more than $50 and more on weekdays as a lot of businesses send their people there. There rooms are kind of small but nice. Even if you wanted to mess around in Blok M, you don't have to stay there. At late night, traffic isn't an issue.

Maybe he meant the Amaris just around the corner on Jl Pangalima Polim. About 3 yrs old. Also the Win Hotel beside that just open 2 years or less. Both basic but clean and very girl friendly. But clientele is mainly locals and although caucasians and others stay there, some ability to speak the language helps. Both around 50 USD.
Also there is the new Sahid place just on the Pasaraya Mall side of Jl Paletehan 1. Previously reviewed on page 4 of this thread

Also, don't rule out the famous short time Hotel Prapanca just by the Kemang turn off.
Is hotel Golden still there? Right in the middle of the Japanese/karaoke section of the block. When those karaoke places close at 01.00 am, there is a lot of girls to be picked up there.

For awhile they were easy to get a room. Then I started having problems as they book a lot of Indonesian business travelers.

Yes is Ambhara that was about 3 yr ago book online, price is up but for a few $ more stay there instead of the dump hotel Melawi.

The Golden Boutique, yes. Also there is a big new one on Melawai just by the entrance to the Japanese area, its was taking an age to finish though. I have not been past lately so unsure of status.
I will be in Jakarta from 23 of September for about one week. I am not sure which Hotel might be right. Ambhara seems to expensive, but Pacific Blue (600k) or Win Hotel (370K) are ok. Are the Hotels girlfriendly? I suppose they are both close to block M? Can somebody recommend the Hotels? Do they have free WLAN at room?
