Well, up to date as of 2002 at least. Just wondering what kinda women were going for those prices back in 2002, and in Bangkok no less. ;-)
The links in that FAQ are mostly out of date -- half of them take you to Pattaya Pages dot com, which is, well, a less than excellent site. Some others are simply dead links.
It makes me wonder what a good set of links would be these days. Are we allowed to link to other good sites to check out here, or is that against 2008 forum rules?

well the rules state that we are not allowed to link to competing forums and some of these type of links will be editted out autometically. also links to commercial porn sites and ****file sites are obviously not permitted. however if we simply want to give info, not for commercial gain, and not promoting the competing forums or anything highly illegal, then seems to be o.k.
i referred a board member to some pattaya forums website to get look for detailed information on a topic. did i break a rule by putting up those website addresses for him to go to? i read the general rules section (as listed below) and i didn't see any reference that we should not list another forum(s) for further information. i have no personnel dealing with those website, so i don't think i fell under the heading of "self-promotion". if i have missed something else, could you please point it out to me so i don't make the same mistake twice?

The swastika is a religious Hindu symbol. Hitler used it for his Nazi Party as he could not come up with a better logo (Does that say something about his perceived superiority?)
As with any other nation, the older people know about WW2. However, the younger generations would be only aware as an historical event. But what puzzles me is that you were unaware of the origin of the symbol.

Increased use of ice is not confined to Thailand and the Asian nations but also in North America. This stuff is super addictive and dangerous. I've friends who were well established, respected, and recognized in our community who fell victim to ice and lost everything. Spend a couple of hours and attend a formal presentation on this drug, it will be well worth the time.

Not totally correct. Yes, it is true that the swastika (perpendicular and usually opposite to how it was used by the Nazis) is an ancient Hindu sylmbol. But, it is also a symbol in ancient Norse runes, and Germanic mythology. There is more than likely a common origin, given the strong connection between Indo-aryan races and Europe.
The Finns used the swastika in WW1 as a military symbol, as did several German paramilitary units during the German Civil War (1919-23). Since the Nazi Party was formed in 1919 (Hitler was member #7) during this time, it's more than likely they adopted it from what was current fashion. BTW, Hitler was originally sent by the German army to spy on the German Worker's Party (not yet the Nazis) before he decided to join, revamp it and make something of it.
There is some anecdotal evidence to suggest that Hitler may have been influenced by the fact that there was a swastika over the gate of his parish priest's house in Linz, Austria.
The fact is, that it is a very ancient symbol probably going back to pre-history, which is mainly why it appealed to the Nazis with their passion for the occult and trying to find a link to the dawn of time.
Re: Thai's knowledge of WW2
It's been my experience that Thais are fairly ignorant about world history (their own history included) and certainly know little of WW2. My GF happens to know who Hitler was, which astounds me. But, she watches the History Channel all the time. Thais have virtually no knowledge of the Holocaust, which is why when a photo of Hitler was featured in an advertisement on the back of several tu-tuks, a few years ago, the Thais were quite puzzled when there were loud protests from the Israeli ambassador and the Jewish World Congress.
