The owner said maybe ten years ago they allowed guests but this created problems. Right down the street is a short term hotel at 500 gourdes for 2 hours.

Stayed at the B&B Comfy Inn for $90 per night. Chica friendly as long as girl checks in at front desk and shows a picture ID. $20 charge if she stays overnight. I tried to find an apartment for the month but they just weren't at the same standard as the hotels. Too many bugs, no A / C, toilet not working, etc. Etc. Not many options for apartment rentals unlike other countries I have visited, but lots of hotel options. Anything cheaper than I was paying at BB comfy inn was not nearly as nice. So, possible to get as low as around $65 per night but not nearly as nice. Worth the extra $25 per night to stay in a nice room with all the modern comforts and a restaurant in house.

He told me the hotel he is building in Jacmel is all planned out and under construction so keep an eye out here for completion date. Great spot on the beach. That would be the best way to go.
Also, Misquitoes like to bite ankles so bring deep woods off or buy some at a pharmacy while there.

I know from other sources that you are way off target with 4000 gourdes for ST. If not, I would rather stick with haitianas in Puerto Plata for 1000 pesos (=1000 gourdes) ST or 1500 TLN.

Offering 1000 pissed them off, and these girls were very hot, nice girls so I didn't mind paying $45usd and making them happy at the same time. But my guide said they would have taken less.
To answer your question about using my pimp / guide, my creole is bad, I only know a little French, and he and his friend knew lots of girls so I needed him to translate and it was easier. He hardly charged my anything so it was worth it. I picked up plenty on my own too.
