Assuming your statistic is correct, the murder rate in the United States is 24% lower than the Philippines.

Why bother going to AC and deal with the drama of local girls, because IMHO that is where you will GET in trouble with the locals. Where else can you go and pay appox $25 for a 18 year old GFE? If you want to meet girls on the internet, stay in Manila or go to Cebu, do not waste your time in AC.
I just returned from 8 days in AC yesterday and I seen first hand local girl drama. I had a couple of young guys with me and they picked up local hotel employees. First the girls were looking for fun, but then the drama started (I thought you loved me) and overall they told me that they would of enjoyed AC a lot more if there had not been any drama. Go to the bar and pay them to leave.

The double was business related (as there was no robbery reported) and the female killing was not in the mainstream bar area that most tourist frequent, it was a local bar away from Fields Ave.

Robb[/QUOTE]I never said they had anything to do with a tourist on vacation but 3 homicides in one night in a city that small is significant to me. If AC population is roughly 250, 000, that extrapolates out to a dozen homicides in a city of a million. That's significant to me.

Everyone knows the Philippines is unsafe as a whole, I would suspect AC worse than a lot of other places in the Philippines. Check the travel advisories from the various embassies. Manila and AC are not Bangkok, Singapore or KL. Be careful at night and do not go to dark places, do not wear jewelry, do not flash money, try and use a closed room exchange shop if you are changing a lot of money, always smile at Filipinos. Do not get angry and argue. If bargaining, do it quietly, smile and joke.
Of course, if a mad former policeman climbs onto your bus and causes the swat team to climb aboard and kill everyone, then just pray.

Statistics are pretty tricky. I took a course in uni and it really opened my eyes. I don't remember the math so much, but I learned enough to doubt the vague kind of statistics you get in news reports. FF, what is your interest in statistics?
I'd hate to be crucified for being terribly off topic, so let me say that. AC is a great place, where you can watch dancers both cute and horrific. You can chat with most all of them, although the topics may be limited. The waitresses are also eager to chat. If you are an interesting guy, or a guy who wants to buy drinks, you can get quite a large converstaion going. You can also pay what is called an early work release (EWR) which allows the employee to leave the premises and to be your tour guide for a while. To be honest, these tour guides aren't very informed about all travel matters, but they usually make up for it in eagerness and service. I'm especially fond of the all night tour, which seems to be a speciality in AC. X.

As a newbie to the forum, I've been contacting various laidies in the PI. One Happens to live in Angeles, walking distance from Options and Central Park Hotel. Would I be correct in assuming: a) She would be familiar with what happens on Fields Ave. Be) the interesting places don't show up on Google Map much see) it might be bad mojo mongering walking distance from where a gf knows everybody by name? Your opinion would be appreciated.

I have seen dramas too when the girl on the end of the night 4am, refuses to go to the hotel room, saying she was only having fun and wanted to barhoop. Also seen dramas with local BF and so on. Its easy to pick up local chicks, but if you will do that then go to at least a place which has more then just bars like Manila or Cebu. You will get more choice, easyer girls and will enjoy the scenary much better

It is your right to discount anything printed in news reports. Understandably, others may desire objective data from credible sources that weren't derived from speculation, fabrication or rumor.
Hi, I'm making my virgin trip to AC in October and was thinking about these hotels that are close to the action: Orchid Inn Resort, Pacific Breeze, Central Park Hotel, Kokomos.
Anybody stayed at these hotels? Recommendations for one over another?
