As a collective it would be great to see people supporting these institutions which used to make Pattaya so great.

Have to say I am no longer excited by Walking street at all (5+ years and 20 trips after first visit). Some gogo's are good, (Baccara and the big white one on the left past Angelwitch etc) all having great looking girls but the fun atmopshere has changed. {Special mention going to Secrets for having the best draft beer in Thailand and making an excellent and relaxing stop off before diving back in to the action}.

Would be great if some of the "mega" gogo's would re-locate to Soi Bukhao, Soi 7-8 etc where the beer bars and camarderie between the farangs / WG's was fantastic.

Went on to Bangkok after a week in Pattaya. Nana and Soi Cowboy packed beyond belief in all the decent gogo's. Pattaya still wins hands down as it has all the space that Bangkok doesn't. But it needs all the Farangs to stay together, drink beer, take the girls out of the bars and make it great like it always was.

The title "call for support" and talking about going as a collective was really to let people know to go and see and hopefully spend some money in "the old" Pattaya before it disappears for good. Or at least disappears totally from Walking Street. I'm still happy picking up girls in beer bars and the newer clean-cut gogo's. But I have to say the old school style gogo will be sadly missed for fun and banter early in the evening

Maybe my way of saying it upset a few people. The old Pattaya has disappeared. Most of the gorgeous girls who you could banter with and then who would sleep with you until gone noon the next day are virtually extinct. Replaced by a hard core of girls, most of who rate between 2 and 4 out of 10, who most people wouldn't want to sleep with. But the thing is these girls, who most Thai men would never even sleep with, are here. More are arriving and they are making money. The penny pinching farangs are paying these girls, driving the 7 to 9 bracket girls who they won't pay out of town. The younger guys now priced out of Brazil, who seem penny pinching as well, haven't helped the situation. Pattaya is now full of penny pinching farangs and the party, as some of us knew it, is over.

By three or four all hands are on deck. Many of the bars have short time rooms on the premises. You'll pay 300 to the bar for the room and 700 to the girl. The room won't be fancy. And on Soi 6 you're generally done after you pop. Another alternative is to pick up a girl on Beach Road and head for a short time hotel. If you find a girl you fancy, she'll be able to direct you to a nearby short time hotel. Again, you'll pay about 300 baht for the hotel. The girl will run 500 to 1000, depending on her looks and how hard you haggle.

But when I land at BKK I'm always keyed up, excited to begin my holiday. So even though it's been a 25 hour trip I'm not inclined to stop moving. My practice is to book a taxi from Khun Keak at Pattaya Taxi and head for Pattaya. At that hour there's no traffic and the trip only takes about 90 minutes. As a rule of thumb, unless there are long lines at immigration, baggage delays or lots of traffic figure three to three-and-a-half hours from landing to check in at your Pattaya hotel going down there by pre-arranged taxi.

In my case, I add my arrival day to my Pattaya hotel reservation. Yes, I pay for an "extra" day that starts about 12 hours before I check in. But that usually costs me less than any place I'd stay in Bangkok, and I like being able to check in immediately upon arrival.

This gives me options. If I'm still wired and ready to party, the Walking Street discos are at full song at 4:00 a.m, and it's a simple matter to find somebody for a quick shag. If the long trip has taken it's toll and I'm finally ready to fall asleep I can unpack, check my email and wind down with a beer or two before going to bed about 5:30 a.m. I can usually sleep six or seven hours, which goes a long way toward shifting to Pattaya time, which is 12 hours different than my home base.

Three hours works fine for me. Last time I was in Thailand it took me that long to get to Nana from the airport.

They leave once an hour from the airport for an awesome approximate 150 bht. You get there within an hour and a half. Air-conditioned with reserved seats. Room for luggage below. Similar to our greyhound busses in the states. Head down by Exit or Door #8, far left as you face out of the airport and you can buy a ticket at their service desk.

1. Stayed in Soi 11 close to Soi LK metro which is full of bars etc and equidistant to Walking St and Soi 6. Use the baht buses if you don't want to walk 15 minutes.

2. Quality of all bars and clubs extremely variable from night to night. My favorites were Peppermint in Walking and Office in LK metro. Soi 6 is more short time. We went into one bar and we were not allowed to stay.

3. Massage parlours all over. All offering as far as I could see HE, most with BBBJ and some with FS (I would suspect all if the rooms were private). The massage is not always good.

4. Soapy massage down at Soi 2 and in Soi 10 (I think). I had three. All enjoyable. B1, 800 plus tip.

5. In the 7 days bar fined 3. The hostess from peppermint in mid 30's by far the best; the 20 yo stunner with no tits from submarine the worst. B2, 000. B3, 000 LT.

6. HJ while sat in Office. B500 tip.

7. About 10 other massages. Cost B300 plus tip.

8. Only looked on Beach Road. Lots on offer to suit every taste.

9. Vast amounts of lady boys. I saw one absolutely beautiful specimen on soi 6 but that is not my scene.

10. On walking St Baccara very good but places like Alcatraz nothing special.

11. Best bet is the normal bars where you can see someone that attracts.
