I was originally going to let the gun go without comment because while I didn't believe it, it was possible. The reason I challenge it is the China law is very, VERY, clear on this point. Wielding a weapon in a crime is a capital offense. Think about it, given the population, I'd argue that Shanghai and Beijing are two of the safest cities in the world. Per capita, violent crimes are almost non-existent. And that's how they do it. You get caught using a weapon in a crime, whether you even hurt someone or not. The penalty is death. And yes, I can speak to this as absolute fact.

Now HB1 is talking about his credit card and his account, however according to the original account, it was his friend's card. Then there's being here on a work visa. Not a business visa (ok, getting picky now, but when there's one cockroach, there's always more. Especially a world traveler not knowing the difference). And while I'm being picky, 1000 RMB seems to have appeared.

I realize I've just opened myself to a shit storm, but I just can't help myself.

I recommended this drugstore to many guys already who wanted to buy Cialis or Viagra in Shanghai, and there has been a guy there (obviously a Chinese or Chinese looking) who was very pissed off, because they asked him for a prescription (and he comment that it was also written there. In Chinese. That for stuff like Viagra and Cialis you need a prescription). And always some guys told me they send someone to a drug store and failed to buy it (have been asked for prescription too).

On the other side there was never a problem for me, they even kidding about me already, because I buy so often (and each time more than one box. Not because my hard life, I often also bring for customer and / or friends). But that seems also a "regional regulation", because customers from Beijing told me, there is no request for any prescription in any drug store. Different to their experience in Shanghai.

So I am nearly sure, that actual officially you need a prescription for that kind of drugs here in Shanghai, but they don't care if they are faced to foreign customers, but ask for that, if the customers are Chinese. Otherwise I have no idea why seems no foreigner fail, but Chinese guys gave me feedback they have been asked for.

I would think they know a foreigner can not be there to check, if they follow the "prescription-rule, so they not need to care about.

I have been mostly a passive user here and also a bit shy to actually go out and experience the mongering for many reasons but recently I got horny to often and went to explore. Some things I would like to share and some questions I'd like to ask.

- yes, for sure the police will crack a locked door. But the girl hope the time they need for that will give her the chance to destroy every potential evidence.

- there is a misunderstanding. I did not write there is no crime without condom, it only means there is no evidence for a crime if none of the involved people admit to that.

- yes, if you join a illegal activity in an illegal massage parlor, you always risk to end up with all the consequences for that.

- if the girl listen to what is going on outside, than I would guess she is afraid about a raid, like everyone who work in that kind of business.

- no, unfortunately there is no day or time where the risk for a police raid is lower or higher, at least we did not found any hint for that.

But if the raid risk is an issue for you, than I would say it's not the most clever decision to go to massage parlors. I would prefer to spend a little bit more in a big sauna. They simply make 50 times more money a month, so they also can pay 50 times more "hong bao" to the local police station to ensure, that they will get informed about a upcoming raid. And they are also mostly much more "hard" to raid. They have hidden doors, blocked elevators and so on, so in a raid the police need much more time till they finally show up in your massage room. That will give you much more time to leave or destroy all potential evidence.

So from my view, visit a massage is cheaper, but also higher the risk for getting police trouble.

Here to shout out a big thank you to Steven. Followed his directions to Changshou Lu / Wanhangdu Lu, found the pharmacy without much problem. Big poster on the glass door as you enter with prices etc. Walked in, pointed to the poster, paid the man, walked out with a box of blue pills. Not a single word exchanged. No prescription asked.

Hey Foxes. I recently had a very bad experience in SCAMHAI. I would strongly urge you to take your business elsewhere. The problem in SCAMHAI is that you have to worry about the police and about the massage place itself. If that's not enough and you are unfortunate enough to contact a lady off Shanghai Nighlife Guide, she will SHORT YOU on time. The owner is non-responsive so I guess the best you could do is roll the dice with backpage. Though not optimal, at least you arent getting ripped a new AHOLE.

Do a google search on Shanghai SCAMS do avoid any issues. Even though I RTFF, I still learned the hard way.
